Psalm 131
131
I Have Calmed and Quieted My Soul
A Song of #[See Ps. 120, title]Ascents. Of David.
1O Lord, my heart is not #[Ps. 138:6; Isa. 57:15] lifted up;
my eyes are not #See Ps. 101:5 raised too high;
I do not #[Jer. 45:5; Rom. 12:16] occupy myself with things
too great and #See Job 42:3too marvelous for me.
2But I have calmed and quieted my soul,
like a weaned #[Matt. 18:3; 1 Cor. 14:20]child with its mother;
like a weaned child is my soul within me.

Ps. 130:7
O Israel, hope in the Lord

Psalm 131
131
A Song of degrees of David.
1 LORD, my heart is not haughty,
Nor mine eyes lofty:
Neither do I exercise myself in
Great matters, or in things too high for me.
2Surely I have behaved and quieted myself,
As a child that is weaned of his mother: My soul is even as a weaned child.
3Let Israel hope in the LORD
From henceforth and for ever.
