Psalm 122
122
Let Us Go to the House of the Lord
A Song of #[See Ps. 120, title]Ascents. Of David.
1I was glad when they said to me,
#
Isa. 2:3; Mic. 4:2; Zech. 8:21 “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
2Our feet have been standing
within your gates, O Jerusalem!
3Jerusalem—#Ps. 147:2 built as a city
that is #Neh. 4:6bound firmly together,
4to which the tribes #Deut. 16:16 go up,
the tribes of the Lord,
as was #Ps. 78:5decreed for#122:4 Or as a testimony for Israel,
to give thanks to the name of the Lord.
5There #Deut. 17:8; 2 Sam. 15:2; 1 Kgs. 3:16; 7:7; 2 Chr. 19:8thrones for judgment were set,
the thrones of the house of David.
6 # [Ps. 51:18; Jer. 29:7] Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
“May they be secure who love you!
7Peace be within your #Ps. 48:13walls
and security within your #Ps. 48:13towers!”
8For my brothers and companions’ sake
I will say, #[1 Sam. 25:6; Ps. 85:8]“Peace be within you!”
9For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will #Neh. 2:10; Esth. 10:3seek your good.

Psalm 122
122
1 A Canticle in steps. I have lifted up my eyes to you, who dwells in the heavens.
2 Behold, as the eyes of the servants are on the hands of their masters, as the eyes of the handmaid are on the hands of her mistress, so our eyes are upon the Lord our God, until he may be merciful to us.
3 Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us. For we have been filled with utter disdain.
4 For our soul has been greatly filled. We are the disgrace of those who have abundance and the disdain of the arrogant.
