Psalm 10
10
Why Do You Hide Yourself?
1Why, O Lord, do you stand #Ps. 22:1, 11, 19; 35:22; 38:21 far away?
Why #Ps. 13:1 do you hide yourself in #Ps. 9:9times of trouble?
2In arrogance the wicked hotly pursue the poor;
let them #[Ps. 7:15, 16]be caught in the schemes that they have devised.
3For the wicked #Ps. 94:4; [Isa. 3:9] boasts of the desires of his soul,
and the one greedy for gain #ver. 13 curses#10:3 Or and he blesses the one greedy for gain and #Job 1:5, 11renounces the Lord.
4In the pride of his face#10:4 Or of his anger the wicked does not #[See ver. 3 above] seek him;#10:4 Or the wicked says, “He will not call to account”
all his thoughts are, #Ps. 14:1; 53:1“There is no God.”
5His ways prosper at all times;
your judgments are on high, #[Isa. 26:11] out of his sight;
as for all his foes, he #Ps. 12:5puffs at them.
6He #ver. 11, 13 says in his heart, “I shall not be moved;
throughout all generations I #[Rev. 18:7]shall not meet adversity.”
7 # Cited Rom. 3:14 His mouth is filled with cursing and #Ps. 36:3 deceit and #Ps. 55:11; 72:14 oppression;
#
Job 20:12; [Ps. 140:3; Song 4:11] under his tongue are #Ps. 7:14 mischief and #Ps. 5:5; 6:8iniquity.
8He sits in ambush in the villages;
in #Ps. 17:12; 64:4; [Hab. 3:14]hiding places he murders the innocent.
His eyes stealthily watch for the helpless;
9he lurks in ambush like #Ps. 17:12 a lion in his #Job 38:40 thicket;
he #Ps. 59:3; Mic. 7:2 lurks that he may seize the poor;
he seizes the poor when he draws him into his #Ps. 9:15net.
10The helpless are crushed, sink down,
and fall by his might.
11He says in his heart, “God has forgotten,
he has #[Ps. 73:11]; Job 22:13 hidden his face, he #Ps. 94:7; Ezek. 8:12; 9:9; [Zeph. 1:12]will never see it.”
12 # See Ps. 3:7 Arise, O Lord; O God, #Mic. 5:9 lift up your hand;
#
Ps. 9:12, 18 forget not the afflicted.
13Why does the wicked #ver. 3 renounce God
and say in his heart, “You will not #Ps. 9:12call to account”?
14But you do see, for you #Ps. 33:13 note mischief and vexation,
that you may take it into your hands;
to you the helpless #2 Tim. 1:12; 1 Pet. 4:19 commits himself;
you have been #Ps. 68:5; 146:9; Hos. 14:3the helper of the fatherless.
15 # See Ps. 37:17 Break the arm of the wicked and evildoer;
# [Ps. 37:36; Isa. 41:12] call his wickedness to account till you find none.
16 #
Ps. 29:10; Ex. 15:18; Jer. 10:10; Lam. 5:19; Dan. 4:34; 6:26; 1 Tim. 1:17; Rev. 11:15 The Lord is king forever and ever;
the #Deut. 8:20nations perish from his land.
17O Lord, you hear the desire of the afflicted;
you will #1 Chr. 29:18strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear
18to #Ps. 82:3; [Isa. 1:17; 11:4] do justice to the fatherless and #Ps. 9:9; 74:21 the oppressed,
so that #Ps. 9:19, 20; 17:14man who is of the earth may strike terror no more.

Tehillim 10
10
1Why standest Thou afar off, Hashem? Why hidest Thou Thyself in times of tzoros?
2The reshah in his ga'avah (haughtiness) doth persecute the ani (poor);#10:2 See Zech 9:9 where ani is Moshiach let them be caught in the devices that they have schemed.
3For the reshah boasteth of his ta'avat nefesh (soulʼs lust), and blesseth the covetous, whom Hashem abhorreth.
4The reshah, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after Him; Elohim is not in all his thoughts.
5His ways are always prosperous; Thy mishpatim are on high, out of his sight; as for all his enemies, he sneers at them.
6He hath said in his lev, I shall not be shaken; throughout all generations I shall never be in trouble.
7His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud; under his leshon (tongue) is trouble and iniquity.
8He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages; in the places for ambush doth he murder the naki (innocent); his eyes are secretly set against the poor.
9He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den; he lieth in wait to catch the poor; he doth catch the poor when he draweth him into his reshet.
10He crouches, and stoops, that the poor may fall by his atzum (might).
11He hath said in his lev, El hath forgotten; He hideth his face; He will never see it.
12Arise, Hashem; O El, lift up Thine yad; forget not the aniyim.
13For why doth the reshah renounce Elohim? He hath said in his lev, Thou wilt not call me to account.
14Thou hast seen it; for Thou beholdest trouble and ka'as (grief), to requite it with Thy yad; the helpless committeth himself unto Thee; Thou art the Ozer (helper) of the yatom (orphan).
15Break Thou the zero'a of the reshah and the evil man; call to account his wickedness that would not be found out.
16 Hashem is Melech olam va'ed; the Goyim are perished out of His land.
17 Hashem, Thou hast heard the desire of the aniyim; Thou wilt strengthen their lev, Thou wilt cause Thine ear to hear;
18To judge the yatom (orphan) and the oppressed, that enosh of the earth may no more strike terror.
