The Seven Lamps
1Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2“Speak to Aaron and say to him, When you set up the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lampstand.” 3And Aaron did so: he set up its lamps in front of the lampstand, as the Lord commanded Moses. 4And #Ex. 25:31this was the workmanship of the lampstand, hammered work of gold. From its base to its flowers, it was hammered work; according to the pattern that the Lord had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand.
Cleansing of the Levites
5And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 6“Take the Levites from among the people of Israel and cleanse them. 7Thus you shall do to them to cleanse them: sprinkle the #ch. 19:9, 17; [Lev. 8:6] water of purification upon them, and #[Lev. 14:8, 9]let them go with a razor over all their body, and wash their clothes and cleanse themselves. 8Then let them take a bull from the herd and #Lev. 2:1; See Ex. 29:41 its grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil, #ver. 12and you shall take another bull from the herd for a sin offering. 9#[Ex. 29:4; 40:12] And you shall bring the Levites before the tent of meeting #[Lev. 8:3]and assemble the whole congregation of the people of Israel. 10When you bring the Levites before the Lord, the people of Israel #[Lev. 1:4]shall lay their hands on the Levites, 11and Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord as a wave offering from the people of Israel, that they may do the service of the Lord. 12Then the Levites #[Ex. 29:10] shall lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, and you shall offer #ver. 8the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering to the Lord to make atonement for the Levites. 13And you shall set the Levites before Aaron and his sons, and shall offer them as #ver. 11, 21a wave offering to the Lord.
14“Thus you shall separate the Levites from among the people of Israel, and #ch. 3:45; [ch. 16:9]the Levites shall be mine. 15And after that the Levites shall go in to serve at the tent of meeting, when you have cleansed them and offered them as a #[See ver. 13 above]wave offering. 16For they are #ch. 3:9 wholly given to me from among the people of Israel. #ch. 3:12, 45Instead of all who open the womb, the firstborn of all the people of Israel, I have taken them for myself. 17#See Ex. 13:2For all the firstborn among the people of Israel are mine, both of man and of beast. On the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I consecrated them for myself, 18and I have taken the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the people of Israel. 19#[See ver. 16 above] And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons from among the people of Israel, to do the service for the people of Israel at the tent of meeting and #ch. 25:11, 13 to make atonement for the people of Israel, #See ch. 1:53that there may be no plague among the people of Israel when the people of Israel come near the sanctuary.”
20Thus did Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the people of Israel to the Levites. According to all that the Lord commanded Moses concerning the Levites, the people of Israel did to them. 21And #ver. 7 the Levites purified themselves from sin and washed their clothes, and #ver. 11, 12, 13, 15Aaron offered them as a wave offering before the Lord, and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them. 22And after that the Levites went in to do their service in the tent of meeting before Aaron and his sons; as the Lord had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.
Retirement of the Levites
23And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 24“This applies to the Levites: #[ch. 4:3; 1 Chr. 23:3, 24, 27]from twenty-five years old and upward they#8:24 Hebrew he; also verses 25, 26 shall come to do duty in the service of the tent of meeting. 25And from the age of fifty years they shall withdraw from the duty of the service and serve no more. 26They minister#8:26 Hebrew He ministers to their brothers in the tent of meeting #See ch. 1:53by keeping guard, but they shall do no service. Thus shall you do to the Levites in assigning their duties.”

Al-faanuus wa niiraanah
1Wa Allah hajja le Muusa wa gaal : 2«Guul le Haaruun wakit yirakkib al-sabʼa tiyeesaat le l-naar, khalli yiwajjih al-niiraan le yidawwu al-bakaan al-gaaʼid giddaam al-faanuus.»
3Wa Haaruun sawwa misil Allah amar beyah Muusa. Rakkab kulla tiyeesaat al-naar wa wajjah niiraanhum achaan gaaʼidiin yidawwu al-bakaan al-gaaʼid giddaam al-faanuus. 4Wa l-faanuus da madguug be dahab min gaʼarah lahaddi raasah al-gaaʼidiin foogah al-zuhuur hana l-dahab. Wa daggooh hasab wasif al-wassafah Allah le Muusa.
Tihaarat al-Laawiyiin
5Wa battaan Allah hajja le Muusa wa gaal : 6«Chiil al-Laawiyiin min Bani Israaʼiil wa sawwiihum taahiriin. 7Wa daahu al-cheyy al-tisawwiih le yabgo taahiriin. Ruchchuhum be almi al-tathiir wa khalli yizayyunu kulla jilidhum wa yikhassulu khulgaanhum wa be da, khalaas yabgo taahiriin. 8Wa yichiilu toor wa maʼaayah hadiiye hana dagiig mukhalbat be dihin wa inta tichiil toor aakhar dahiiye le kaffaarat al-zanib. 9Wa jiib al-Laawiyiin giddaam kheemat al-ijtimaaʼ wa limm kulla mujtamaʼ Bani Israaʼiil. 10Wa gaddim al-Laawiyiin giddaam Allah. Wa khalli Bani Israaʼiil yukhuttu iideehum foog al-Laawiyiin. 11Wa Haaruun yigaddim al-Laawiyiin misil hadiiye marfuuʼa al-yigaddumuuha Bani Israaʼiil le Allah. Wa be da, al-Laawiyiin yagdaro yakhdumu le Allah. 12Wa l-Laawiyiin yukhuttu iideehum fi ruuse al-tiiraan dool wa inta gaddimhum le Allah. Al-toor al-waahid dahiiye le kaffaarat al-zanib wa l-waahid dahiiye muharraga wa da yabga kaffaara le zunuub al-Laawiyiin. 13Wa jiib al-Laawiyiin giddaam Haaruun wa awlaadah wa gaddimhum misil hadiiye marfuuʼa le Allah. 14Wa be da, aʼazil al-Laawiyiin min Bani Israaʼiil wa humman yabgo hineeyi ana Allah.
15«Wa baʼad titahhir al-Laawiyiin wa tigaddimhum leyi misil hadiiye marfuuʼa, khalli yamchu yakhdumu fi kheemat al-ijtimaaʼ. 16Achaan min kulla Bani Israaʼiil, humman bas hineeyi halaali. Wa ana chiltuhum fi badal kulla awlaad al-bikir min Bani Israaʼiil le yabgo hineeyi ana Allah. 17Achaan kulla awlaad al-bikir hineeyi. Min yoom ana katalt kulla awlaad al-bikir fi balad Masir, kulla awlaad al-bikir fi Israaʼiil kan min al-naas walla min al-bahaayim kula, ana khassastuhum le yabgo hineeyi ana. 18Wa laakin hassaʼ ana chilt al-Laawiyiin fi badal kulla awlaad al-bikir min Bani Israaʼiil. 19Wa ana chilt al-Laawiyiin wa anteethum le Haaruun wa awlaadah achaan yakhdumu le Bani Israaʼiil fi kheemat al-ijtimaaʼ wa yisawwu leehum al-kaffaara. Wa be da, al-waba ma yanzil fi Bani Israaʼiil wakit yaju gariib le l-bakaan al-mukhaddas.»
20Wa Muusa wa Haaruun wa kulla mujtamaʼ Bani Israaʼiil sawwo kulla cheyy al-bukhuss al-Laawiyiin misil Allah amar beyah Muusa. 21Wa l-Laawiyiin tahharo nufuushum wa khassalo khulgaanhum wa Haaruun gaddamaahum misil hadiiye marfuuʼa le Allah. Wa sawwa leehum al-kaffaara achaan yabgo taahiriin. 22Wa baʼad da, al-Laawiyiin gidro khadamo fi kheemat al-ijtimaaʼ tihit muraakhabat Haaruun wa awlaadah. Wa sawwo kulla cheyy al-bukhuss al-Laawiyiin misil Allah amar beyah Muusa.
23Wa battaan Allah hajja le Muusa wa gaal : 24«Daahu khidmit al-Laawiyiin. Ayyi waahid al-umrah min 25 sana wa foog, waajib yugumm wa yakhdim fi kheemat al-ijtimaaʼ. 25Wa kan umrah lihig 50 sana, khalaas khalli yagiif battaan ma yakhdim. 26Hu yisaaʼid akhwaanah al-gaaʼidiin yahfado wa yakhdumu fi kheemat al-ijtimaaʼ laakin ma yantuuh khidme khaassa leyah. Wa da l-cheyy al-waajib tisawwiih fi l-khidme al-tukhuss al-Laawiyiin.»
