God Promises Deliverance
1But the Lord said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for with a strong hand he will send them out, and with #ch. 3:19; 13:3a strong hand he will #ch. 11:1; 12:33, 39drive them out of his land.”
2God spoke to Moses and said to him, #[Isa. 42:8; Mal. 3:6]“I am the Lord. 3I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as #Gen. 17:1God Almighty,#6:3 Hebrew El Shaddai but by my name the #Ps. 68:4; 83:18; [John 8:58; Rev. 1:4, 8]Lord I did not make myself known to them. 4#Gen. 15:18; 17:4, 7I also established my covenant with them #Gen. 17:8; 28:4to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they lived as sojourners. 5Moreover, #ch. 2:24I have heard the groaning of the people of Israel whom the Egyptians hold as slaves, and I have remembered my covenant. 6Say therefore to the people of Israel, #[Isa. 42:8; Mal. 3:6] ‘I am the Lord, and #ch. 7:4; Deut. 26:8; Ps. 136:11, 12; [ch. 3:17] I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from slavery to them, and #ch. 15:13; Deut. 7:8; 2 Kgs. 17:36; 1 Chr. 17:21; Neh. 1:10I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment. 7I #Deut. 4:20; 7:6; 14:2; 26:18; 2 Sam. 7:24; [1 Pet. 2:9] will take you to be my people, and #ch. 29:45, 46; Gen. 17:8; Lev. 22:33; Deut. 29:13; [Rev. 21:7] I will be your God, and you shall know that #[See ver. 6 above] I am the Lord your God, who has brought you out #[See ver. 6 above]from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 8I will bring you into #ch. 32:13; Gen. 15:18; 26:3; 28:13; 35:12; Ezek. 20:6, 42the land that I #[Gen. 14:22; Deut. 32:40; Ezek. 20:5, 6; 47:14] swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. I will give it to you for a possession. #[See ver. 6 above]I am the Lord.’” 9Moses spoke thus to the people of Israel, but they #ch. 5:21; [Acts 7:25]did not listen to Moses, because of their broken spirit and harsh slavery.
10So the Lord said to Moses, 11“Go in, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the people of Israel go out of his land.” 12But Moses said to the Lord, “Behold, the people of Israel have #[See ver. 9 above] not listened to me. How then shall Pharaoh listen to me, for #ver. 30; ch. 4:10; Jer. 1:6; [Jer. 6:10; Ezek. 44:7]I am of uncircumcised lips?” 13But the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them a charge about the people of Israel and about Pharaoh king of Egypt: to bring the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

How Will Pharaoh Listen?
1Adonai said to Moses, “Now you will see what I am going to do to Pharaoh. By way of a strong hand he will let them go, and drive them out of his land.”
2God spoke further to Moses and said to him, “I am Adonai.
3I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, as El Shaddai. Yet by My Name, Adonai, I made Myself known to them.
4I also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage where they journeyed.
5Furthermore, I have heard the groaning of Bnei-Yisrael, whom the Egyptians are keeping in bondage. So I have remembered My covenant.
6Therefore say to Bnei-Yisrael: I am Adonai, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. I will deliver you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
7I will take you to Myself as a people, and I will be your God. You will know that I am Adonai your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
8So I will bring you into the land that I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, and give it to you as an inheritance. I am Adonai.”
9Moses spoke this way to Bnei-Yisrael, but they did not listen to him because of their broken spirit and cruel bondage.
10So Adonai told Moses,
11“Go, speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that will he let Bnei-Yisrael go out of his land.”
12But Moses said to Adonai, “Bnei-Yisrael have not listened to me. So how would Pharaoh listen to me—I, who have uncircumcised lips?”
13Then Adonai spoke to Moses and to Aaron and gave to them a charge for Bnei-Yisrael and Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring Bnei-Yisrael out of the land of Egypt.
14These are the heads of their father’s houses. The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel were Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron and Carmi. These are the families of Reuben.
15The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman. These are the families of Simeon.
16These are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived 137 years.
17The sons of Gershon were Libni and Shimei, according to their families.
18The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath lived 133 years.
19The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations.
20Amram married Jochebed, his father’s sister, and she bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years.
21The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg and Zichri.
22The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri.
23Aaron married Elisheba daughter of Amminadav, sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
24The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These are the families of the Korahites.
25Eleazar, Aaron’s son, married one of the daughters of Putiel and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the ancestral houses of the Levites according to their families.
26These are the same Aaron and Moses to whom Adonai said, “Bring Bnei-Yisrael out from the land of Egypt according to their divisions.”
27These are the ones that spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring Bnei-Yisrael out from Egypt. These are that same Moses and Aaron.
28So it happened on the day when Adonai spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt,
29that Adonai said to Moses, “I am Adonai. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything that I tell to you.”
30But Moses said to Adonai, “I am of uncircumcised lips, so how would Pharaoh listen to me?”
