45
1The word that Jeremias the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Nerias, when he had written there words in a book, out of the mouth of Jeremias, in the fourth year of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, saying:
2Thus saith the Lord the God of Israel to thee, Baruch:
3Thou hast said: Woe is me, wretch that I am, for the Lord hath added sorrow to my sorrow! I am wearied with my groans and I find no rest.
4Thus saith the Lord: Thus shalt thou say to him: Behold, them whom I have built, I do destroy: and them whom I have planted, I do pluck up, and all this land.
5And dost thou seek great things for thyself? Seek not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the Lord but I will give thee thy life and save thee in all places whithersoever thou shalt go.

A Word for Baruch
1The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying, 2Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch; 3Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest. 4Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land. 5And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
