Exodus 35
35
1And all the multitude of the children of Israel being gathered together, he said to them: These are the things which the Lord hath commanded to be done.
2Six days you shall do work: the seventh day shall be holy unto you, the sabbath, and the rest of the Lord. He that shall do any work on it shall be put to death.
3You shall kindle no fire in any of your habitations on the sabbath day.
4And Moses said to all the assembly of the children of Israel: This is the word the Lord hath commanded, saying:
5Set aside with you first-fruits to the Lord. Let every one that is willing, and hath a ready heart, offer them to the Lord: gold, and silver, and brass:
6Violet and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine linen, goats' hair:
7And rams' skins dyed red, and violet-coloured skins, setim wood:
8And oil to maintain lights, and to make ointment, and most sweet incense:
9Onyx stones, and precious stones, for the adorning of the ephod and the rational.
10Whosoever of you is wise, let him come, and make that which the Lord hath commanded:
11To wit, the tabernacle and the roof thereof, and the cover, the rings, and the board-work with the oars, the pillars, and the sockets:
12The ark and the staves, the propitiatory, and the veil that is drawn before it:
13The table with the bars and the vessels, and the loaves of proposition:
14The candlestick to bear up the lights, the vessels thereof and the lamps, and the oil for the nourishing of fires:
15The altar of incense, and the bars, and the oil of unction and the incense of spices: the hanging at the door of the tabernacle:
16The altar of holocaust, and its grate of brass, with the bars and vessels thereof: the laver and its foot:
17The curtains of the court with the pillars and the sockets: the hanging in the doors of the entry:
18The pins of the tabernacle and of the court with their little cords:
19The vestments that are to be used in the ministry of the sanctuary: the vesture of Aaron the high priest, and of his sons, to do the office of priesthood to me.
20And all the multitude of the children of Israel going out from the presence of Moses,
21Offered first-fruits to the Lord with a most ready and devout mind, to make the work of the tabernacle of the testimony. Whatsoever was necessary to the service, and to the holy vestments,
22Both men and women gave bracelets and earrings, rings and tablets: every vessel of gold was set aside to be offered to the Lord.
23If any man had violet, and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, fine linen and goats' hair, rams' skins dyed red, and violet-coloured skins,
24Metal of silver and brass: they offered it to the Lord, and setim wood for divers uses.
25The skilful women also gave such things as they had spun, violet, purple, and scarlet, and fine linen,
26And goats' hair, giving all of their own accord.
27But the princes offered onyx stones, and precious stones, for the ephod and the rational:
28And spices and oil for the lights, and for the preparing of ointment, and to make the incense of most sweet savour.
29All both men and women with devout mind offered gifts, that the works might be done which the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses. All the children of Israel dedicated voluntary offerings to the Lord.
30And Moses said to the children of Israel: Behold the Lord hath called by name Beseleel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur of the tribe of Juda.
31And hath filled him with the spirit of God: with wisdom and understanding and knowledge and all learning.
32To devise and to work in gold and silver and brass,
33And in engraving stones, and in carpenters' work. Whatsoever can be devised artificially,
34He hath given in his heart: Ooliab, also the son of Achisamech, of the tribe of Dan:
35Both of them hath he instructed with wisdom, to do carpenters' work, and tapestry, and embroidery in blue and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine linen; and to weave all things, and to invent all new things.

Preparation of Materials and People for Building
1And Moses assembled all the community of the Israelites,#Literally “sons/children of Israel” and he said to them, “These are the words that Yahweh has commanded for us to do them. 2On six days work can be done, and on the seventh there will be for you a holy day,#Literally “holiness” a Sabbath of complete rest,#Literally “a Sabbath of ‘Sabbathation.’ ” “Sabbathation” is not a real word, but it is devised as an attempt to convey the sounds of the related nouns in the Hebrew phrase for Yahweh; anyone doing work on it will be put to death. 3You will not kindle a fire in any of your dwellings on the day of the Sabbath.”
4And Moses said to all the community of the Israelites,#Literally “sons/children of Israel” saying, “This is the word that Yahweh has commanded, saying, 5‘Take from among you a contribution for Yahweh, anyone willing of heart, let him bring Yahweh’s contribution—gold and silver and bronze, 6and blue and purple and crimson yarns, and fine linen and goat hair, 7and red-dyed ram skins, and fine leather,#The particular kind of leather is uncertain and acacia wood, 8and oil for the lamp, balsam oils for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, 9onyx stones and stones for mountings on the ephod and the breast piece.
10“And let all the skilled of heart among you come and make all that Yahweh has commanded: 11The tabernacle, its tent, and its covering; its clasps and its frames;#Or “boards” or “planks” its bars, its pillars, and its bases; 12the ark and its poles; the atonement cover and the curtain of the screen; 13the table and its poles and all its equipment; and the bread of the presence; 14and lampstand of the light and its equipment and its lamps and the oil for the light; 15and the altar of incense and its poles; and the anointing oil and the fragrant incense and the entrance curtain for the entrance of the tabernacle; 16the altar of the burnt offering and the bronze grating that is for it, its poles and all its equipment; the basin and its stand; 17the hangings of the courtyard, its pillars, and its bases, and the screen for the courtyard gate; 18the pegs#Literally “hands” of the tabernacle and the pegs#Literally “hands” of the courtyard and their cords; 19the woven garments for serving in the sanctuary—the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons to serve as priests.”
20And all the community of the Israelites#Literally “sons/children of Israel” went out from before Moses. 21And they came—every man whose heart lifted him and every man whose spirit impelled him—they brought Yahweh’s contribution for the work of the tent of assembly and for all its service and for the holy garments. 22And they came, the men in addition to the women, all who were willing of heart; they brought brooches and jewelry rings and signet rings and ornaments—every variety of gold object—every man who waved a wave offering of gold for Yahweh, 23and every man with whom was found blue and purple and crimson yarns and fine linen and goat hair and red-dyed ram skins and fine leather brought it. 24All who were presenting a contribution of silver and bronze brought Yahweh’s contribution, and all with whom was found acacia wood for all the work of service brought it. 25And every woman who was skilled of heart with her hands they spun, and they brought yarn—the blue and the purple, the crimson and the fine linen. 26And all the women whose heart lifted them with skill spun the goat hair. 27And the leaders brought the onyx stones and stones for mountings for the ephod and for the breast piece 28and the balsam oils and the oil for light and for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense. 29Every man and woman whose heart impelled them to bring for all the work to be done that Yahweh had commanded by the agency of#Literally “by the hand of” Moses—the Israelites#Literally “sons/children of Israel” brought freely to Yahweh.
30And Moses said to the Israelites,#Literally “sons/children of Israel” “See, Yahweh has called by name#In other words, “specifically chosen” Bezalel the son of Uri the son of Hur, from the tribe of Judah. 31And he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom and with skill#Or “understanding,” “discernment,” “cleverness” and with knowledge and with every kind of craftsmanship, 32and to devise designs, to work with the gold and with the silver and with the bronze, 33and in stonecutting for setting and in cutting wood, for doing every kind of design craftsmanship. 34And he has put it in his heart to teach—he and Oholiab the son of Ahisamach, from the tribe of Dan. 35He has filled them with skill of heart to do every work of a craftsman and a designer and an embroiderer with the blue and with the purple, with the crimson yarns and with the fine linen and a weaver; they are doers of every kind of craftsmanship and devisers of designs.
