The Resurrection
(Matthew 28.1-10; Luke 24.1-12; John 20.1-10)
1And when the sabbath was past, Mary Mag´dalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salo´me, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. 2And very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. 3And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? 4And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. 5And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. 6And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. 7#Matt 26.32; Mark 14.28. But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. 8And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.
Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene
(John 20.11-18)
9Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Mag´dalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. 10And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 11And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
Jesus Appears to Two Disciples
(Luke 24.13-35)
12After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. 13And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.
Jesus Commissions the Eleven
(Matthew 28.16-20; Luke 24.36-49; John 20.19-23)
14Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15#Acts 1.8. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
The Ascension
(Luke 24.50-53)
19 #
Acts 1.9-11. So then, after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Mark 16
16
1Once the Sabbath had ended, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought aromatic ointments so that they could go and anoint Jesus' body. 2Very early on the first day of the week,#16:2. That is, Sunday. just at sunrise, they went to the tomb. 3They were asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” 4But when they arrived and looked, they saw that the very large, heavy stone had already been rolled away.
5When they went into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right, wearing a long white robe. They became very frightened.
6“Don't be frightened,” he told them. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, the one who was crucified. He is risen from the dead. He is not here. 7Look, this is the place where they laid him to rest. Now go, and tell his disciples and Peter that he's going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there just as he told you.”
8They left and ran from the tomb, shaking and confused. They said nothing to anyone because they were too scared.#16:8. Many of the early manuscripts of Mark end here. Others continue as shown.
9When Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week, he appeared first of all to Mary Magdalene, from whom he'd driven out seven demons. 10She went and told those who had been with him as they mourned and cried. 11When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they didn't believe it. 12Later Jesus appeared in a different form to two other disciples who'd left to go to the countryside. 13They returned and told the others, but they didn't believe them either.
14After this he appeared to the eleven disciples as they were eating. He rebuked them for their lack of trust and their stubbornness, because they had not believed those who'd seen him after he had risen.
15Then he told them, “Go to the whole world, and announce the good news to everyone.#16:15. Literally, “all creation.” 16Anyone who trusts in me and is baptized will be saved, but anyone who chooses not to trust will be condemned. 17The following signs will accompany those who trust in me: in my name they will drive out demons; they will speak new languages; 18they will be able to handle snakes; if they drink something poisonous they won't be harmed; they will place their hands on the sick and they will be healed.”
19Then, the Lord Jesus, when he had finished speaking to them, was taken up into heaven where he sat down at the right hand of God. 20The disciples went out and spread the good news everywhere, and the Lord worked with them, confirming the message through miraculous signs that accompanied it.
