John 2

The Wedding at Cana
1And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 2and both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. 3And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 4Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. 5His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. 6And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was, (but the servants which drew the water knew,) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10and saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. 11This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

Matt 4.13. After this he went down to Caper´na-um, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples; and they continued there not many days.
The Cleansing of the Temple
(Matthew 21.12,13; Mark 11.15-18; Luke 19.45,46)

Exod 12.1-27. And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, 14and found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: 15and when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; 16and said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house a house of merchandise. 17#Ps 69.9. And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up. 18Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? 19#Matt 26.61; 27.40; Mark 14.58; 15.29. Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. 20Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? 21But he spake of the temple of his body. 22When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
Jesus Knows All Men
23Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. 24But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, 25and needed not that any should testify of man; for he knew what was in man.

Yoḥanan (John) 2
2
1And on the third day there was a wedding in Qanah of Galil, and the mother of יהושע was there.
2And both יהושע and His taught ones were invited to the wedding.
3And when they were short of wine, the mother of יהושע said to Him, “They have no wine.”
4יהושע said to her, “Woman, what is that to Me and to you? My hour has not yet come.”
5His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever He says to you.”
6And there were six stone water-jugs standing there, according to the mode of cleansing of the Yehuḏim, each holding two or three measures.
7יהושע said to them, “Fill the water-jugs with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.
8And He said to them, “Now draw out and take it to the master of the feast.” So they took it.
9But when the master of the feast had tasted the water that had become wine, and did not know where it came from – though the servants who had drawn the water knew – the master of the feast called the bridegroom,
10and said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when they have drunk, then that which is poorer. You have kept the good wine until now.”
11This, the beginning of the signs, יהושע did in Qanah of Galil, and manifested His esteem. And His taught ones believed in Him.
12After this He went down to Kephar Naḥum, He and His mother, and His brothers, and His taught ones. And there they stayed not many days.
13And the Pĕsaḥ of the Yehuḏim was near, and יהושע went up to Yerushalayim.
14And He found in the Set-apart Place those selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the moneychangers sitting.
15And having made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the Set-apart Place, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the moneychangers’ coins and overturned the tables.
16And He said to those selling doves, “Take these away! Do not make the house of My Father a house of merchandise!”
17And His taught ones remembered that it was written, “The ardour for Your house has eaten Me up.”# Psa. 69:9
18And the Yehuḏim answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You are doing these?”
19יהושע answered and said to them, “Destroy this Dwelling Place, and in three days I shall raise it.”
20Then the Yehuḏim said, “It took forty-six years to build this Dwelling Place, and You are going to raise it in three days?”
21But He spoke about the Dwelling Place of His body.
22So, when He was raised from the dead, His taught ones remembered that He said this to them. And they believed the Scripture and the word which יהושע had said.
23And when He was in Yerushalayim at the Pĕsaḥ, at the festival, many believed in His Name when they saw the signs which He was doing.
24But יהושע was not entrusting Himself to them, because He knew all men,
25and had no need that anyone should witness of man, for He knew what was in man.
