Psalms 124

PSALM 124
A Song of degrees. Of David.
1If it had not been Jehovah who was for us — oh let Israel say — 2If it had not been Jehovah who was for us, when men rose up against us, 3Then they had swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us; 4Then the waters had overwhelmed us, a torrent had gone over our soul; 5Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6Blessed be Jehovah, who gave us not up a prey to their teeth! 7Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we have escaped. 8Our help is in the name of Jehovah, the maker of heavens and earth.

Psalm 124
124
1 A Canticle in steps. Those who trust in the Lord will be like the mountain of Zion. He will not be disturbed for eternity, who dwells
2 in Jerusalem. Mountains surround it. And the Lord surrounds his people, from this time forward and even forever.
3 For the Lord will not allow the rod of sinners to remain over the lot of the just, so that the just may not extend their hands toward iniquity.
4 Do good, O Lord, to the good and to the upright of heart.
5 But those who turn away into obligation, the Lord will lead away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel.
