Numbers 12
12
1And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had taken; for he had taken a Cushite as wife. 2And they said, Has Jehovah indeed spoken only to Moses? has he not spoken also to us? And Jehovah heard it. 3But the man Moses was very meek, above all men that were upon the face of the earth.
4Then Jehovah spoke suddenly to Moses, and to Aaron, and to Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tent of meeting. And they went out, they three. 5And Jehovah came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood at the entrance of the tent, and called Aaron and Miriam; and they both came forth. 6And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I Jehovah will make myself known to him in a vision, I will speak to him in a dream. 7Not so my servant Moses: he is faithful in all my house. 8Mouth to mouth do I speak to him openly, and not in riddles; and the form of Jehovah doth he behold. Why then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant, against Moses? 9And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against them, and he went away;
10and the cloud departed from off the tent. And behold, Miriam was leprous as snow; and Aaron turned toward Miriam, and behold, she was leprous. 11Then Aaron said to Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not this sin upon us, wherein we have been foolish, and have sinned! 12Let her not be as one stillborn, half of whose flesh is consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb. 13And Moses cried to Jehovah, saying, O ·God#GodHebrew: El heal her, I beseech thee! 14And Jehovah said to Moses, But had her father anyways spat in her face, should she not be shamed seven days? She shall be shut outside the camp seven days, and afterwards she shall be received in again. 15And Miriam was shut outside the camp seven days; and the people did not journey till Miriam was received in again. 16And afterwards the people journeyed from Hazeroth, and encamped in the wilderness of Paran.

Miriam and Aaron Are Jealous of Moses
1-3 #
Si 45.4. Although Moses was the most humble person in all the world, Miriam and Aaron started complaining, “Moses had no right to marry that woman from Ethiopia!#12.1-3 Ethiopia: The Hebrew text has “Cush,” which was a region south of Egypt that included parts of the present countries of Ethiopia and Sudan. Who does he think he is? The Lord has spoken to us, not just to him.”
The Lord heard their complaint 4and told Moses, Aaron, and Miriam to come to the entrance of the sacred tent. 5There the Lord appeared in a cloud and told Aaron and Miriam to come closer. 6Then after commanding them to listen carefully, he said:
“I, the Lord, speak to prophets
in visions and dreams.
7 #
He 3.2. But my servant Moses
is the leader of my people.
8He sees me face to face,
and everything I say to him
is perfectly clear.
You have no right to criticize
my servant Moses.”
9The Lord became angry with Aaron and Miriam. And after the Lord left 10and the cloud disappeared from over the sacred tent, Miriam's skin turned white with leprosy.#12.10 leprosy: See the note at 5.2,3. When Aaron saw what had happened to her, 11he said to Moses, “Sir, please don't punish us for doing such a foolish thing. 12Don't let Miriam's flesh rot away like a child born dead!”
13Moses prayed, “Lord God, please heal her.”

Nu 5.2,3. But the Lord replied, “Miriam would be disgraced for seven days if her father had punished her by spitting in her face. So make her stay outside the camp for seven days, before coming back.”
15The people of Israel did not move their camp until Miriam returned seven days later. 16Then they left Hazeroth and set up camp in the Paran Desert.
