Leviticus 27
27
1And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, 2Speak unto the children of Israel and say unto them, When any one devoteth anything by a vow, the persons shall be for Jehovah according to thy valuation. 3And thy valuation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old: thy valuation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary; 4and if it be of a female, thy valuation shall be thirty shekels. 5And if it be from five years old even unto twenty years old, thy valuation of the male shall be twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 6And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, thy valuation of the male shall be five shekels of silver; and for the female thy valuation shall be three shekels of silver. 7And if it be from sixty years old and above, if it be a male, thy valuation shall be fifteen shekels; and for the female ten shekels. 8And if he be poorer than thy valuation, he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him: according to his means that vowed shall the priest value him. 9And if it be a beast whereof men bring an offering unto Jehovah, all that they give of such unto Jehovah shall be holy. 10They shall not alter it nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good; and if he at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange thereof shall be holy. 11And if it be any unclean beast, of which they do not bring an offering unto Jehovah, then he shall present the beast before the priest; 12and the priest shall value it, judging between good and bad: according to the valuation of the priest, so shall it be. 13And if they will in any wise redeem it, then they shall add a fifth part thereof unto thy valuation.
14And when any one halloweth his house, that it may be holy to Jehovah, the priest shall value it, judging between good and bad: as the priest shall value it, so shall it stand. 15And if he that halloweth it will redeem his house, he shall add the fifth of the money of thy valuation unto it, and it shall be his. 16And if a man hallow to Jehovah part of a field of his possession, thy valuation shall be according to what may be sown in it: the homer of barley seed at fifty shekels of silver. 17If he hallow his field from the year of jubilee, according to thy valuation shall it stand; 18but if he hallow his field after the jubilee, then the priest shall reckon unto him the money according to the years that remain, until the year of the jubilee; and there shall be a reduction from thy valuation. 19And if he that hallowed the field will in any wise redeem it, he shall add the fifth of the money of thy valuation unto it, and it shall be assured to him; 20but if he do not redeem the field, or if he sell the field to another man, it cannot be redeemed any more; 21and the field, when it goeth out in the jubilee, shall be holy to Jehovah, as a field devoted; the possession thereof shall be the priest's. 22And if he hallow to Jehovah a field that he hath bought, which is not of the fields of his possession, 23the priest shall reckon unto him the amount of thy valuation, unto the year of the jubilee; and he shall give thy valuation on that day, as holy to Jehovah. 24In the year of the jubilee the field shall return unto him of whom it was bought — to him to whom the land belonged. 25And all thy valuation shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel.
26Only the firstling which is offered as firstling to Jehovah among the cattle, that shall no man hallow, whether it be ox or sheep; it is Jehovah's. 27But if it be of an unclean beast, then he shall ransom it according to thy valuation, and shall add a fifth of it thereto; and if it be not redeemed, it shall be sold according to thy valuation. 28Notwithstanding, no devoted thing that a man hath devoted to Jehovah of all that he hath, of man or beast, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy to Jehovah. 29Nothing devoted, which shall be devoted from among men, shall be ransomed: it shall certainly be put to death. 30And as to every tithe of the land, of the seed of the land, and of the fruit of the tree, it is Jehovah's: it is holy to Jehovah. 31And if any one will at all redeem of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth thereof. 32And as to every tithe of the herd, or of the flock, of whatever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to Jehovah. 33He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it; and if he change it at all, then both it and the exchange thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed. 34These are the commandments which Jehovah commanded Moses for the children of Israel upon mount Sinai.

Laws About Vows
1The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2“Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, If anyone #[Judg. 11:30, 31, 39; 1 Sam. 1:11, 28; See Num. 30]makes a special vow to the Lord involving the valuation of persons, 3then the valuation of a male from twenty years old up to sixty years old shall be fifty shekels#27:3 A shekel was about 2/5 ounce or 11 grams of silver, according to the #ver. 25; See Ex. 30:13shekel of the sanctuary. 4If the person is a female, the valuation shall be thirty shekels. 5If the person is from five years old up to twenty years old, the valuation shall be for a male twenty shekels, and for a female ten shekels. 6If the person is from a month old up to five years old, the valuation shall be for a male five shekels of silver, and for a female the valuation shall be three shekels of silver. 7And if the person is sixty years old or over, then the valuation for a male shall be fifteen shekels, and for a female ten shekels. 8And if someone is too poor to pay the valuation, then he shall be made to stand before the priest, and the priest shall value him; the priest shall value him according to what the vower can afford.
9“If the vow#27:9 Hebrew it is an animal that may be offered as an offering to the Lord, all of it that he gives to the Lord is holy. 10#ver. 33He shall not exchange it or make a substitute for it, good for bad, or bad for good; and if he does in fact substitute one animal for another, then both it and the substitute shall be holy. 11And if it is any unclean animal that may not be offered as an offering to the Lord, then he shall stand the animal before the priest, 12and the priest shall value it as either good or bad; as the priest values it, so it shall be. 13#ver. 15, 19 But if he wishes to redeem it, he shall add a #ch. 22:14fifth to the valuation.
14“When a man dedicates his house as a holy gift to the Lord, the priest shall value it as either good or bad; as the priest values it, so it shall stand. 15#ver. 13 And if the donor wishes to redeem his house, he shall add a #[See ver. 13 above]fifth to the valuation price, and it shall be his.
16“If a man dedicates to the Lord part of the land that is his possession, then the valuation shall be in proportion to its seed. A homer#27:16 A homer was about 6 bushels or 220 liters of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver. 17If he dedicates his field from the year of jubilee, the valuation shall stand, 18but if he dedicates his field after the jubilee, then the priest shall #ver. 23; ch. 25:15, 16calculate the price according to the years that remain until the year of jubilee, and a deduction shall be made from the valuation. 19#ver. 13 And if he who dedicates the field wishes to redeem it, then he shall add a #[See ver. 13 above]fifth to its valuation price, and it shall remain his. 20But if he does not wish to redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed anymore. 21But the field, #ch. 25:28, 30, 31, 33, 41 when it is released in the jubilee, shall be a holy gift to the Lord, like a field that has been #ver. 28 devoted. The priest shall be in #Num. 18:14; Ezek. 44:29possession of it. 22If he dedicates to the Lord a field that he has bought, #ch. 25:10, 25which is not a part of his possession, 23#ver. 18then the priest shall calculate the amount of the valuation for it up to the year of jubilee, and the man shall give the valuation on that day as a holy gift to the Lord. 24#ch. 25:28In the year of jubilee the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, to whom the land belongs as a possession. 25Every valuation shall be according to #ver. 3 the shekel of the sanctuary: #See Ex. 30:13twenty gerahs#27:25 A gerah was about 1/50 ounce or 0.6 gram shall make a shekel.
26“But a #See Ex. 13:2firstborn of animals, which as a firstborn belongs to the Lord, no man may dedicate; whether ox or sheep, it is the Lord’s. 27And if it is an unclean animal, then he shall buy it back at the valuation, #ver. 11-13and add a fifth to it; or, if it is not redeemed, it shall be sold at the valuation.
28“But #ver. 21; Josh. 6:17-19; 1 Sam. 15:21no devoted thing that a man devotes to the Lord, of anything that he has, whether man or beast, or of his inherited field, shall be sold or redeemed; every devoted thing is most holy to the Lord. 29#[Num. 21:2; Judg. 11:35]No one devoted, who is to be devoted for destruction#27:29 That is, set apart (devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction) from mankind, shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death.
