Isaiah 25
25
1Jehovah, thou art my God#GodHebrew: Elohim I will exalt thee; I will celebrate thy name, for thou hast done wonderful things; counsels of old which are faithfulness and truth. 2For thou hast made of the city a heap, of the fortified town a ruin, the palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built up. 3Therefore shall the mighty people glorify thee, the city of terrible nations shall fear thee. 4For thou hast been a fortress to the poor, a fortress for the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat: for the blast of the terrible ones has been as the storm against a wall. 5Thou hast subdued the tumult of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; as the heat, by the shadow of a cloud, so the song of the terrible ones is brought low.
6And in this mountain will Jehovah of hosts make unto all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. 7And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the veil which veileth all the peoples, and the covering that is spread over all the nations. 8He will swallow up death in victory. And the Lord Jehovah will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the reproach of his people will he take away from off all the earth: for Jehovah hath spoken.
9And it shall be said in that day, Behold, this is our God#GodHebrew: Elohim we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is Jehovah, we have waited for him; we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. 10For in this mountain shall the hand of Jehovah rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, as straw is trodden down in the dunghill; 11and he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth them forth to swim; and he shall bring down their pride together with the plots of their hands. 12And the fortress of the high defences of thy walls will he bring down, lay low, bring to the ground, into the dust.

Isaiah 25
25
Praise to God
1O Lord, You are my God.
#Ex. 15:2I will exalt You,
I will praise Your name,
#Ps. 98:1For You have done wonderful things;
#Num. 23:19Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
2For You have made #Is. 21:9; 23:13; Jer. 51:37a city a ruin,
A fortified city a ruin,
A palace of foreigners to be a city no more;
It will never be rebuilt.
3Therefore the strong people will #Is. 24:15; Rev. 11:13glorify You;
The city of the terrible nations will fear You.
4For You have been a strength to the poor,
A strength to the needy in his distress,
#Is. 4:6A refuge from the storm,
A shade from the heat;
For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
5You will reduce the noise of aliens,
As heat in a dry place;
As heat in the shadow of a cloud,
The song of the terrible ones will be diminished.
6And in #(Is. 2:2–4; 56:7)this mountain
#Prov. 9:2; Matt. 22:4The Lord of hosts will make for #(Dan. 7:14; Matt. 8:11)all people
A feast of choice pieces,
A feast of wines on the lees,
Of fat things full of marrow,
Of well-refined wines on the lees.
7And He will destroy on this mountain
The surface of the covering cast over all people,
And #2 Cor. 3:15; (Eph. 4:18)the veil that is spread over all nations.
8He will #(Hos. 13:14; 1 Cor. 15:54; Rev. 20:14)swallow up death forever,
And the Lord God will #Is. 30:19; Rev. 7:17; 21:4wipe away tears from all faces;
The rebuke of His people
He will take away from all the earth;
For the Lord has spoken.
9And it will be said in that day:
“Behold, this is our God;
#Gen. 49:18; Is. 8:17; 26:8; (Titus 2:13)We have waited for Him, and He will save us.
This is the Lord;
We have waited for Him;
#Ps. 20:5We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.”
10For on this mountain the hand of the Lord will rest,
And #Is. 16:14; Jer. 48:1–47; Ezek. 25:8–11; Amos 2:1–3; Zeph. 2:9Moab shall be trampled down under Him,
As straw is trampled down for the refuse heap.
11And He will spread out His hands in their midst
As a swimmer reaches out to swim,
And He will bring down their #Is. 24:4; 26:5pride
Together with the trickery of their hands.
12The #Is. 26:5fortress of the high fort of your walls
He will bring down, lay low,
And bring to the ground, down to the dust.
