Prayer for Divine Help
1For the leader; of David. For remembrance.
2Graciously rescue me, God!#Ps 40:14–18.
Come quickly to help me, Lord!#Ps 71:12.
3Let those who seek my life
be confused and put to shame.#Ps 35:4, 26.
Let those who desire my ruin
turn back in disgrace.
4Let those who say “Aha!”#Ps 35:21, 25.
turn back in their shame.
5But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you,
Those who long for your help
always say, “God be glorified!”#Ps 35:27.
6I am miserable and poor.
God, come to me quickly!
You are my help and deliverer.
Lord, do not delay!

Psalm 70
For the music leader. Of David. For the memorial offering.
1Hurry, God, to deliver me;
hurry, LORD, to help me!
2Let those who seek my life be ashamed and humiliated!
Let them fall back and be disgraced—
those people who delight in my downfall!
3Let those who say, “Aha! Aha!”
stop because of their shameful behavior.
4But let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you,
and let those who love your saving help say again and again:
“God is great!”
5But me? I’m poor and needy.
Hurry to me, God!
You are my helper and my deliverer.
Oh, LORD, don’t delay!
