Harvest Thanks and Petition
1For the leader; with stringed instruments. A psalm; a song.
I
2May God be gracious to us#May God be gracious to us: the people’s petition echoes the blessing pronounced upon them by the priests, cf. Nm 6:22–27. and bless us;
may his face shine upon us.#Ps 4:7; 31:17; 44:4; 80:4; Dn 9:17.

3So shall your way be known upon the earth,
your victory among all the nations.#Jer 33:9.
4May the peoples praise you, God;
may all the peoples praise you!

5May the nations be glad and rejoice;
for you judge the peoples with fairness,
you guide the nations upon the earth.#Ps 98:9.

6May the peoples praise you, God;
may all the peoples praise you!
III
7The earth has yielded its harvest;
God, our God, blesses us.#Ps 85:13; Lv 26:4; Ez 34:27; Hos 2:23–24.
8May God bless us still;
that the ends of the earth may revere him.

To the Overseer, with stringed instruments. — A Psalm, a Song.
1God doth favour us and bless us, Doth cause His face to shine with us. Selah.
2For the knowledge in earth of Thy way, among all nations of Thy salvation.
3Praise Thee do peoples, O God, Praise Thee do peoples, all of them.
4Rejoice and sing do nations, For Thou judgest peoples uprightly, And peoples on earth comfortest. Selah.
5Confess Thee do peoples, O God, Confess Thee do peoples — all of them.
6Earth hath given her increase, God doth bless us — our God,
7God doth bless us, and all ends of earth fear Him!
