Psalms 130
130
A Prayer for Help
1From the depths of my despair I call to you, LORD.
2Hear my cry, O Lord;
listen to my call for help!
3If you kept a record of our sins,
who could escape being condemned?
4But you forgive us,
so that we should stand in awe of you.
5I wait eagerly for the LORD's help,
and in his word I trust.
6I wait for the Lord
more eagerly than watchmen wait for the dawn —
than watchmen wait for the dawn.
7Israel, trust in the LORD,
because his love is constant
and he is always willing to save.

Mt 1.21; Tit 2.14 He will save his people Israel
from all their sins.

Psalm 130
A pilgrimage song.
1I cry out to you from the depths, LORD—
2my Lord, listen to my voice!
Let your ears pay close attention to my request for mercy!
3If you kept track of sins, LORD—
my Lord, who would stand a chance?
4But forgiveness is with you—
that’s why you are honored.
5I hope, LORD.
My whole being#130.5 Or soul; also in 132:6 hopes,
and I wait for God’s promise.
6My whole being waits for my Lord—
more than the night watch waits for morning;
yes, more than the night watch waits for morning!
7Israel, wait for the LORD!
Because faithful love is with the LORD;
because great redemption is with our God!
8He is the one who will redeem Israel
from all its sin.
