Psalms 126
126
A Prayer for Deliverance
1When the LORD brought us back to Jerusalem,#126.1 brought us back to Jerusalem; or made Jerusalem prosperous again.
it was like a dream!
2How we laughed, how we sang for joy!
Then the other nations said about us,
“The LORD did great things for them.”
3Indeed he did great things for us;
how happy we were!
4 LORD, make us prosperous again,#126.4 make… again; or take us back to our land.
just as the rain brings water back to dry riverbeds.
5Let those who wept as they sowed their seed,
gather the harvest with joy!
6Those who wept as they went out carrying the seed
will come back singing for joy,
as they bring in the harvest.

Joyful Restoration of Zion
1A Song of Ascents. When Adonai restored the captives of Zion, it was as if we were dreaming.
2Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with a song of joy. Then they said among the nations, “Adonai has done great things for them.”
3Adonai has done great things for us —we are joyful!
4Restore us from captivity, Adonai, like streams in the Negev.
5Those who sow in tears will reap with a song of joy.
6Whoever keeps going out weeping, carrying his bag of seed, will surely come back with a song of joy, carrying his sheaves.
