125
The Security of God's People
1Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion,
which can never be shaken, never be moved.
2As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the LORD surrounds his people
now and for ever.
3The wicked will not always rule over the land of the righteous;
if they did, the righteous themselves might do evil.
4 LORD, do good to those who are good,
to those who obey your commands.
5But when you punish the wicked,
punish also those who abandon your ways.
Peace be with Israel!

Israel’s Stability
A song of ascents.
1Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion.
It cannot be shaken; it remains forever. # Ps 46:5
2Jerusalem — the mountains surround her.
And the Lord surrounds His people,
both now and forever. # Zch 2:5
3The scepter of the wicked will not remain
over the land allotted to the righteous,
so that the righteous will not apply their hands to injustice. # Ps 89:22; Is 14:5
4Do what is good, Lord, to the good,
to those whose hearts are upright. # Ps 7:10; 119:68
5But as for those who turn aside to crooked ways,
the Lord will banish them with the evildoers. # Ps 92:7,9; 94:4
Peace be with Israel. # Ps 128:5-6
