Psalms 123
123
A Prayer for Mercy
1 LORD, I look up to you,
up to heaven, where you rule.
2As a servant depends on his master,
as a maid depends on her mistress,
so we will keep looking to you, O LORD our God,
until you have mercy on us.
3Be merciful to us, LORD, be merciful;
we have been treated with so much contempt.
4We have been mocked too long by the rich
and scorned by proud oppressors.

Psalms 123
123
A Song of Ascents.
1To thee I lift up my eyes,
O thou who art enthroned in the heavens!
2Behold, as the eyes of servants
look to the hand of their master,
as the eyes of a maid
to the hand of her mistress,
so our eyes look to the Lord our God,
till he have mercy upon us.
3Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us,
for we have had more than enough of contempt.
4Too long our soul has been sated
with the scorn of those who are at ease,
the contempt of the proud.
