The Descendants of Reuben
1 #
Gen 35.22; 49.3–4 These are the descendants of Reuben, the eldest of Jacob's sons. (Because he had intercourse with one of his father's concubines, he lost the rights belonging to the firstborn son, and those rights were given to Joseph. 2#Gen 49.8–10It was the tribe of Judah, however, that became the strongest and provided a ruler for all the tribes.) 3Reuben, the eldest of Jacob's sons, had four sons: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

2 Kgs 15.29
These are the descendants of Joel from generation to generation: Shemaiah, Gog, Shimei, Micah, Reaiah, Baal, and Beerah. The Assyrian emperor, Tiglath Pileser, captured Beerah, a leader of the tribe, and deported him.
7The family records list the following clan leaders in the tribe of Reuben: Jeiel, Zechariah, 8and Bela, the son of Azaz and grandson of Shema, of the clan of Joel. This clan lived in Aroer and in the territory from there north to Nebo and Baal Meon. 9They had large herds in the land of Gilead, and so they occupied the land as far east as the desert that stretches all the way to the River Euphrates.
10In the time of King Saul the tribe of Reuben attacked the Hagrites, killed them in battle, and occupied their land in the eastern part of Gilead.
The Descendants of Gad
11The tribe of Gad lived to the north of Reuben in the land of Bashan as far east as Salecah. 12Joel was the founder of the leading clan, and Shapham of the second most important clan. Janai and Shaphat were founders of other clans in Bashan. 13The other members of the tribe belonged to the following seven clans: Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia, and Eber. 14They were descendants of Abihail son of Huri, whose ancestors were traced back as follows: Abihail, Huri, Jaroah, Gilead, Michael, Jeshishai, Jahdo, Buz. 15Ahi, the son of Abdiel and grandson of Guni, was head of these clans. 16They lived in the territory of Bashan and Gilead, in the towns there and all over the pasture lands of Sharon. 17(These records were compiled in the days of King Jotham of Judah and King Jeroboam II of Israel.)
The Armies of the Eastern Tribes
18In the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and East Manasseh there were 44,760 soldiers, well trained in the use of shields, swords, and bows. 19They went to war against the Hagrite tribes of Jetur, Naphish, and Nodab. 20They put their trust in God and prayed to him for help, and God answered their prayers and made them victorious over the Hagrites and their allies. 21They captured from the enemy 50,000 camels, 250,000 sheep, and 2,000 donkeys, and took 100,000 prisoners of war. 22They killed many of the enemy, because the war was God's will. And they went on living in that territory until the exile.#5.22 the exile: About 733 bc the Assyrians conquered northern Israel and the Israelite territory east of the River Jordan and deported the people (see 2 Kgs 15.29).
The People of East Manasseh
23The people of East Manasseh settled in the territory of Bashan as far north as Baal Hermon, Senir, and Mount Hermon, and their population increased greatly. 24The following were the heads of their clans: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel. They were all outstanding soldiers, well-known leaders of their clans.
The Eastern Tribes are Deported
25But the people were unfaithful to the God of their ancestors and deserted him to worship the gods of the nations whom God had driven out of the land. 26#2 Kgs 15.19, 29; 17.6So God made Emperor Pul of Assyria (also known as Tiglath Pileser) invade their country. He deported the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and East Manasseh and settled them permanently in Halah, Habor, and Hara, and by the River Gozan.

1 Chronicles 5

Descendants of Reuben
1The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel—he was the firstborn, but when he defiled his father’s bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel—so he is not reckoned as the firstborn in the genealogical record.
2Though Judah was the strongest among his brothers, and a ruler came from him, the birthright belonged to Joseph.
3The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Enoch, Pallu, Hezron and Carmi.
4The descendants of Joel: his son Shemaiah, his son Gog, his son Shimei,
5his son Micah, his son Reaiah, his son Baal
6and his son Beerah whom Tillegath-pilneser king of Assyria carried into exile. He was the leader of the Reubenites.
7His kinsmen by their families, as listed in their genealogical records: the leader Jeiel, Zechariah,
8and Bela son of Azaz, son of Shema, son of Joel. They settled in Aroer as far as Nebo and Baal-meon,
9while in the east they settled as far as the entrance of the wilderness from this side of the river Euphrates, because their cattle had multiplied in the land of Gilead.
10Now in the days of Saul they had made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand. So they lived in their encampments in the entire eastern area of Gilead.
11Now the sons of Gad lived opposite them in the land of Bashan as far as Salcah:
12Joel the leader, Shapham second, then Janai and Shaphat in Bashan.
13Their kinsmen according to their ancestral families: Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia and Eber—seven in all.
14These were the sons of Abihail son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jehishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz.
15Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni was leader of their ancestral families.
16They lived in Gilead, in Bashan and its surrounding villages, and in all the pasturelands of Sharon, up to their borders.
17All these were recorded by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18The sons of Reuben and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh had 44,760 warriors ready for war—men who carried shield and sword and drew the bow, and were skilled in battle.
19So they made war with the Hagrites, Jetur, Naphish and Nodab.
20They received help against them, so that the Hagrites and all who were with them were delivered into their hand, for they cried out to God during the battle. He answered their supplications, because they put their trust in Him.
21They took away their livestock: 50,000 of their camels, 250,000 sheep, and 2,000 donkeys, as well as 100,000 people.
22For many fell slain, because the war was of God. So they dwelt in their place until the exile.
Manesseh East of Jordan
23Now the children of the half-tribe of Manasseh settled in the land from Bashan to Baal-hermon, Senir and Mount Hermon. They were numerous.
24These were the heads of their clans: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, Jahdiel. They were mighty men of valor, famous men, heads of their clans.
25But they were unfaithful to the God of their fathers, and prostituted themselves to the gods of the peoples of the land whom God had destroyed before them.
26So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of King Pul of Assyria—the spirit of Tillegath-pilneser king of Assyria—and he carried away the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara and to the river of Gozan, to this day.
Descendants of Levi
27The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath and Merari.
28The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.
29The children of Amram: Aaron, Moses and Miriam. The sons of Aaron: Nadav and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
30Eleazar fathered Phinehas and Phinehas fathered Abishua.
31Abishua fathered Bukki, and Bukki fathered Uzzi.
32Uzzi fathered Zerahiah and Zerahiah fathered Meraioth.
33Meraioth fathered Amariah and Amariah fathered Ahitub.
34Ahitub fathered Zadok and Zadok fathered Ahimaaz.
35Ahimaaz fathered Azariah and Azariah fathered Johanan.
36Johanan fathered Azariah, who served as kohen in the House that Solomon built in Jerusalem.
37Azariah fathered Amariah, and Amariah fathered Ahitub.
38Ahitub fathered Zadok, and Zadok fathered Shallum.
39Shallum fathered Hilkiah, and Hilkiah fathered Azariah,
40and Azariah fathered Seraiah, and Seraiah fathered Jehozadak.
41Jehozadak went into captivity when Adonai exiled Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.
