Psalms 14
14
(A psalm by David for the music leader.)
No One Can Ignore the Lord
1 #
Ro 3.10-12. Only a fool would say,
“There is no God!”
People like that are worthless;
they are heartless and cruel
and never do right.
2From heaven the Lord
looks down to see
if anyone is wise enough
to search for him.
3But all of them are corrupt;
no one does right.
4Won't you evil people learn?
You refuse to pray,
and you gobble up
the Lord's people.
5But you will be frightened,
because God is on the side
of every good person.
6You may spoil the plans
of the poor,
but the Lord protects them.
7I long for someone from Zion
to come and save Israel!
Our Lord, when you bless
your people again,
Jacob's family will be glad,
and Israel will celebrate.

Tehillim (Psa) 14
14
1For the leader. By David:
Fools say in their hearts,
“There is no God.”
They deal corruptly, their deeds are vile,
not one does what is right.
2From heaven Adonai observes humankind
to see if anyone has understanding,
if anyone seeks God.
3But all turn aside, all alike are corrupt;
no one does what is right,
not a single one.
4Don’t they ever learn,
all those evildoers,
who eat up my people as if eating bread
and never call on Adonai?
5There they are, utterly terrified;
for God is with those who are righteous.
6You may mock the plans of the poor,
but their refuge is Adonai.
7How I wish Isra’el’s salvation
would come out of Tziyon!
When Adonai restores his people’s fortunes,
Ya‘akov will rejoice, Isra’el will be glad!
