Psalms 36
36
Psalm 36
For the music leader. Of the LORD’s servant David.
1I know the sinful utterance of the wicked:#36.1 Heb uncertain
No fear of God confronts their own eyes,
2because in their own eyes they are slick with talk
about their guilt ever being found out and despised.#36.2 Heb uncertain
3The words of their mouths are evil and dishonest.
They have stopped being wise and stopped doing good.
4They plot evil even while resting in bed!
They commit themselves to a path that is no good.
They don’t reject what is evil.
5But your loyal love, LORD, extends to the skies;
your faithfulness reaches the clouds.
6Your righteousness is like the strongest mountains;
your justice is like the deepest sea.
LORD, you save both humans and animals.
7Your faithful love is priceless, God!
Humanity finds refuge in the shadow of your wings.
8They feast on the bounty of your house;
you let them drink from your river of pure joy.
9Within you is the spring of life.
In your light, we see light.
10Extend your faithful love to those who know you;
extend your righteousness to those whose heart is right.
11Don’t let the feet of arrogant people walk all over me;
don’t let the hands of the wicked drive me off.
12Look—right there is where the evildoers have fallen,
pushed down, unable to get up!

Psalms 36
36
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of Jehovah.
1The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart,
There is no fear of God before his eyes.
2For he flattereth himself in his own eyes,
That his iniquity will not be found out and be hated.
3The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit:
He hath ceased to be wise and to do good.
4He deviseth iniquity upon his bed;
He setteth himself in a way that is not good;
He abhorreth not evil.
5Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, is in the heavens;
Thy faithfulness reacheth unto the skies.
6Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God;
Thy judgments are a great deep:
O Jehovah, thou preservest man and beast.
7How precious is thy lovingkindness, O God!
And the children of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings.
8They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house;
And thou wilt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
9For with thee is the fountain of life:
In thy light shall we see light.
10Oh continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee,
And thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
11Let not the foot of pride come against me,
And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
12There are the workers of iniquity fallen:
They are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.
