Psalm 3
A psalm of David, when he fled from his son Absalom.
1 LORD, I have so many enemies!
So many are standing against me.
2So many are talking about me:
“Even God won’t help him.” Selah#3.2 Heb uncertain; probably a musical term
3But you, LORD, are my shield!
You are my glory!
You are the one who restores me.
4I cry out loud to the LORD,
and he answers me from his holy mountain. Selah
5I lie down, sleep, and wake up
because the LORD helps me.
6I won’t be afraid of thousands of people
surrounding me on all sides.
7Stand up, LORD!
Save me, my God!
In fact, hit all my enemies on the jaw;
shatter the teeth of the wicked!
8Rescue comes from the LORD!
May your blessing be on your people! Selah

my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

and he answers me from his holy mountain.
5I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.
6I will not fear though tens of thousands
assail me on every side.
7Arise, Lord!
Deliver me, my God!
Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
break the teeth of the wicked.
8From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people.
