Psalms 14
14
Psalm 14
For the music leader. Of David.
1Fools say in their hearts, There is no God.
They are corrupt and do evil things;
not one of them does anything good.
2The LORD looks down from heaven on humans
to see if anyone is wise,
to see if anyone seeks God,
3but all of them have turned bad.
Everyone is corrupt.
No one does good—
not even one person!
4Are they dumb, all these evildoers,
devouring my people
like they are eating bread
but never calling on the LORD?
5Count on it:#14.5 Or There they will be; cf 53:5 they will be in utter panic
because God is with the righteous generation.
6You evildoers may humiliate
the plans of those who suffer,
but the LORD is their refuge.
7Let Israel’s salvation come out of Zion!
When the LORD changes
his people’s circumstances for the better,
Jacob will rejoice;
Israel will celebrate!

Psalms 14
14
(A psalm by David for the music leader.)
No One Can Ignore the Lord
1 #
Ro 3.10-12. Only a fool would say,
“There is no God!”
People like that are worthless;
they are heartless and cruel
and never do right.
2From heaven the Lord
looks down to see
if anyone is wise enough
to search for him.
3But all of them are corrupt;
no one does right.
4Won't you evil people learn?
You refuse to pray,
and you gobble up
the Lord's people.
5But you will be frightened,
because God is on the side
of every good person.
6You may spoil the plans
of the poor,
but the Lord protects them.
7I long for someone from Zion
to come and save Israel!
Our Lord, when you bless
your people again,
Jacob's family will be glad,
and Israel will celebrate.
