Mark 16
16
Empty tomb
1When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they could go and anoint Jesus’ dead body. 2Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they came to the tomb. 3They were saying to each other, “Who’s going to roll the stone away from the entrance for us?” 4When they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away. (And it was a very large stone!) 5Going into the tomb, they saw a young man in a white robe seated on the right side; and they were startled. 6But he said to them, “Don’t be alarmed! You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified.#16.6 Or the Crucified One He has been raised. He isn’t here. Look, here’s the place where they laid him. 7Go, tell his disciples, especially Peter, that he is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you.” 8Overcome with terror and dread, they fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.#16.8 In most critical editions of the Gk New Testament, the Gospel of Mark ends at 16:8.
Endings Added Later
[9They promptly reported all of the young man’s instructions to those who were with Peter. Afterward, through the work of his disciples, Jesus sent out, from the east to the west, the sacred and undying message of eternal salvation. Amen.]
[[9After Jesus rose up early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. 10She went and reported to the ones who had been with him, who were mourning and weeping. 11But even after they heard the news, they didn’t believe that Jesus was alive and that Mary had seen him.
12After that he appeared in a different form to two of them who were walking along in the countryside. 13When they returned, they reported it to the others, but they didn’t believe them. 14Finally he appeared to the eleven while they were eating. Jesus criticized their unbelief and stubbornness because they didn’t believe those who saw him after he was raised up. 15He said to them, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the good news to every creature. 16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever doesn’t believe will be condemned. 17These signs will be associated with those who believe: they will throw out demons in my name. They will speak in new languages. 18They will pick up snakes with their hands. If they drink anything poisonous, it will not hurt them. They will place their hands on the sick, and they will get well.”
19After the Lord Jesus spoke to them, he was lifted up into heaven and sat down on the right side of God. 20But they went out and proclaimed the message everywhere. The Lord worked with them, confirming the word by the signs associated with them.]]

Marqos (Mark) 16
16
1And when the Sabbath was past, Miryam from Maḡdala, and Miryam the mother of Ya‛aqoḇ, and Shelomah bought spices, to go and anoint Him.
2And very early on day one of the week,#Greek one of the sabbaths. See Explanatory Notes "First day of the week” and Mat. 28:1 they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.
3And they said among themselves, “Who shall roll away the stone from the entrance of the tomb for us?”
4And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away, for it was extremely large.
5And having entered into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right, wearing a white robe, and they were greatly astonished.
6And he said to them, “Do not be much astonished. You seek יהושע of Natsareth, who was impaled. He was raised – He is not here! See the place where they laid Him.
7And go, say to His taught ones, and Kĕpha, that He is going before you into Galil. You shall see Him there as He said to you.
8And they went out and fled from the tomb, and were trembling and bewildered. And they spoke to no one, for they were afraid.
9And having risen early on the first day of the week#Gk. first of a sabbath. He appeared first to Miryam from Maḡdala, from whom He had cast out seven demons.#Some manuscripts omit vv. 9-20; Textus Receptus includes them.
10She went and reported to those who had been with Him, mourning and weeping.
11And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.
12And after this He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into a field.
13And they went and reported it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.
14Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table. And He reproached their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He was raised.
15And He said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the Good News to every creature.
16“He who has believed and has been immersed, shall be saved, but he who has not believed shall be condemned.
17“And these signs shall accompany the ones who believe: In My Name they shall cast out demons, they shall speak with renewed tongues,
18they shall take up snakes, and if they drink any deadly drink it shall by no means hurt them, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall get well.”
19Then indeed, after the Master had spoken to them, He was received up into the heaven, and sat down at the right hand of Elohim.# Psa. 110:1
20And they went out and proclaimed it everywhere, while the Master worked with them, and confirmed the word through the accompanying signs. Amĕn.
