Galatians 6

Caring and sharing
1Brothers and sisters, if a person is caught doing something wrong, you who are spiritual should restore someone like this with a spirit of gentleness. Watch out for yourselves so you won’t be tempted too. 2Carry each other’s burdens and so you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3If anyone thinks they are important when they aren’t, they’re fooling themselves. 4Each person should test their own work and be happy with doing a good job and not compare themselves with others. 5Each person will have to carry their own load.
6Those who are taught the word should share all good things with their teacher. 7Make no mistake, God is not mocked. A person will harvest what they plant. 8Those who plant only for their own benefit will harvest devastation from their selfishness, but those who plant for the benefit of the Spirit will harvest eternal life from the Spirit. 9Let’s not get tired of doing good, because in time we’ll have a harvest if we don’t give up. 10So then, let’s work for the good of all whenever we have an opportunity, and especially for those in the household of faith.
Final greeting
11Look at the large letters I’m making with my own handwriting! 12Whoever wants to look good by human standards will try to get you to be circumcised, but only so they won’t be harassed for the cross of Christ. 13Those who are circumcised don’t observe the Law themselves, but they want you to be circumcised, so they can boast about your physical body.#6.13 In Gk the word traditionally rendered as flesh is rendered here as physical body, but it has a wide range of meaning. Gal 5:13-25; 6:8, 12 contain nine close occurrences of the same word in Gk, but it is rendered as selfish in regard to impulses, desires, motives, or benefit, and human standards in 6:12.
14But as for me, God forbid that I should boast about anything except for the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world has been crucified to me through him, and I have been crucified to the world. 15Being circumcised or not being circumcised doesn’t mean anything. What matters is a new creation. 16May peace and mercy be on whoever follows this rule and on God’s Israel.
17From now on, no one should bother me because I bear the marks of Jesus on my body.
18Brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

Galatians 6

Help each other
1My friends, you are spiritual. So if someone is trapped in sin, you should gently lead that person back to the right path. But watch out, and don't be tempted yourself. 2You obey the law of Christ when you offer each other a helping hand.
3If you think you are better than others, when you really aren't, you are wrong. 4Do your own work well, and then you will have something to be proud of. But don't compare yourself with others. 5We each must carry our own load.
6Share every good thing you have with anyone who teaches you what God has said.
7You cannot fool God, so don't make a fool of yourself! You will harvest what you plant. 8If you follow your selfish desires, you will harvest destruction, but if you follow the Spirit, you will harvest eternal life. 9Don't get tired of helping others. You will be rewarded when the time is right, if you don't give up. 10We should help people whenever we can, especially if they are followers of the Lord.
Final warnings
11You can see what big letters I make when I write with my own hand.
12Those people who are telling you to get circumcised are only trying to show how important they are. And they don't want to get into trouble for preaching about the cross of Christ. 13They are circumcised, but they don't obey the Law of Moses. All they want is to boast about having you circumcised. 14But I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of his cross, the world is dead as far as I am concerned, and I am dead as far as the world is concerned.
15It doesn't matter if you are circumcised or not. All that matters is that you are a new person.
16If you follow this rule, you will belong to God's true people. God will treat you with undeserved kindness and will bless you with peace.
17On my own body are scars that prove I belong to Christ Jesus. So I don't want anyone to bother me any more.
18My friends, I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you! Amen.
