35
1Moses gathered together the whole Israelite community and said to them: These are the things that the LORD has commanded you to do:
Instructions for the Sabbath
2Do your work for six days, but the seventh day should be holy to you, a Sabbath of complete rest for the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath will be put to death. 3Don’t start a fire in any of your homes on the Sabbath day.
Preparing to build the dwelling
4Moses said to the whole Israelite community, This is what the LORD has commanded: 5Collect gift offerings for the LORD from all of you. Whoever freely wants to give should bring the LORD’s gift offerings: gold, silver, and copper; 6blue, purple, and deep red yarns; fine linen; goats’ hair; 7rams’ skins dyed red; beaded leather;#35.7 Or dolphin skins acacia wood; 8the oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet-smelling incense; 9gemstones; and gems for setting in the priest’s vest#35.9 Heb ephod and in the priest’s chest pendant.
10All of you who are skilled in crafts should come forward and make everything that the LORD has commanded: 11the dwelling, its tent and its covering, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its posts, and its bases, 12the chest with its poles and its cover, the veil for a screen, 13the table with its poles and all its equipment, the bread of the presence, 14the lampstand for light with its equipment and its lamps, the oil for the light, 15the incense altar with its poles, the anointing oil and the sweet-smelling incense, the entrance screen for the dwelling’s entrance, 16the altar for entirely burned offerings with its copper grate, its poles, and all its equipment, the washbasin with its stand, 17the courtyard’s drapes, its posts, and its bases, and the screen for the courtyard gate, 18the dwelling’s tent pegs and the courtyard’s tent pegs, and their cords, 19the woven clothing for ministering in the sanctuary, and the holy clothes for Aaron the priest and his sons for their service as priests.
Gifts for building the dwelling
20The whole Israelite community left Moses. 21Everyone who was excited and eager to participate brought the LORD’s gift offerings to be used for building the meeting tent and all its furnishings and for the holy clothes. 22Both men and women came forward. Everyone who was eager to participate brought pins, earrings, rings, and necklaces, all sorts of gold objects. Everyone raised an uplifted offering of gold to the LORD. 23And everyone who had blue or purple or deep red yarn or fine linen or goats’ hair or rams’ skins dyed red or beaded leather brought them. 24Everyone who could make a gift offering of silver or copper brought it as the LORD’s gift offering. Everyone who had acacia wood that could be used in any kind of building work brought it. 25All the skilled women spun cloth with their hands, and brought what they had spun in blue and purple and deep red yarns and fine linen. 26All the women who were eager to use their skill spun the goats’ hair. 27The chiefs brought gemstones and gems to be set in the priest’s vest and the chest pendant, 28spices and oil for light and for the anointing oil, and for the sweet-smelling incense. 29All the Israelite men and women who were eager to contribute something for the work that the LORD had commanded Moses to do brought it as a spontaneous gift to the LORD.
Moses introduces Bezalel and Oholiab
30Then Moses said to the Israelites: “Look, the LORD has chosen Bezalel, Uri’s son and Hur’s grandson from the tribe of Judah. 31The LORD has filled him with the divine spirit that will give him skill, ability, and knowledge for every kind of work. 32He will be able to create designs, do metalwork in gold, silver, and copper, 33cut stones for setting, carve wood, do every kind of creative work, 34and have the ability to teach others. Both he and Oholiab, Ahisamach’s son from the tribe of Dan, 35have been given the skill to do every kind of work done by a gem cutter or a designer or a needleworker in blue, purple, and deep red yarns and in fine linen or a weaver or anyone else doing work or creating designs.

Regulations for the Sabbath
1And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These are the words which the Lord hath commanded, that ye should do them. 2#Exod 20.8-11; 23.12; 31.15; 34.21; Lev 23.3; Deut 5.12-14. Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you a holy day, a sabbath of rest to the Lord: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. 3Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.
Israel to Bring an Offering
(Exodus 25.1-9)
4And Moses spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the Lord commanded, saying, 5Take ye from among you an offering unto the Lord: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the Lord; gold, and silver, and brass, 6and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair, 7and rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood, 8and oil for the light, and spices for anointing oil, and for the sweet incense, 9and onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod, and for the breastplate.
The Tabernacle Articles
(Exodus 39.32-43)
10And every wise-hearted among you shall come, and make all that the Lord hath commanded; 11the tabernacle, his tent, and his covering, his taches, and his boards, his bars, his pillars, and his sockets; 12the ark, and the staves thereof, with the mercy seat, and the veil of the covering; 13the table, and his staves, and all his vessels, and the showbread; 14the candlestick also for the light, and his furniture, and his lamps, with the oil for the light; 15and the incense altar, and his staves, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the door at the entering in of the tabernacle; 16the altar of burnt offering, with his brazen grate, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot; 17the hangings of the court, his pillars, and their sockets, and the hanging for the door of the court; 18the pins of the tabernacle, and the pins of the court, and their cords; 19the clothes of service, to do service in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office.
The People Bring the Offering
20And all the congregation of the children of Israel departed from the presence of Moses. 21And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the Lord's offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments. 22And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing-hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered, offered an offering of gold unto the Lord. 23And every man, with whom was found blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair, and red skins of rams, and badgers' skins, brought them. 24Every one that did offer an offering of silver and brass brought the Lord's offering: and every man, with whom was found shittim wood for any work of the service, brought it. 25And all the women that were wise-hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen. 26And all the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom spun goats' hair. 27And the rulers brought onyx stones, and stones to be set, for the ephod, and for the breastplate; 28and spice, and oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense. 29The children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the Lord, every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the Lord had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses.
The Call of Bezaleel and Aholiab
(Exodus 31.1-11)
30And Moses said unto the children of Israel, See, the Lord hath called by name Bez´aleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; 31and he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship; 32and to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, 33and in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work. 34And he hath put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Aho´li-ab, the son of Ahis´amach, of the tribe of Dan. 35Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work.
