Titos (Titus) 1
1
1Sha’ul, a servant of Elohim and an emissary of יהושע Messiah, according to the belief of Elohim’s chosen ones and knowledge of the truth according to reverence,
2in expectation of everlasting life which Elohim, who does not lie, promised before times of old,
3but in its own times has manifested His word through preaching, with which I was entrusted according to the command of Elohim our Saviour,
4to Titos, a genuine child according to our common belief: Favour, compassion, peace from Elohim the Father and the Master יהושע Messiah our Saviour.
5The reason I left you in Crete was that you should straighten out what was left undone, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you:
6if anyone is unreprovable, the husband of one wife, having believing children not accused of loose behaviour, or unruly.
7For an overseer has to be unreprovable, as a managing one of Elohim, not self-pleasing, not wroth, not given to wine, no brawler, not greedy for filthy gain,
8but kind to strangers, a lover of what is good, sensible, righteous, set-apart, self-controlled,
9clinging to the trustworthy word, according to the teaching, in order to be able both to encourage by sound teaching, and to convict#Rather: confute, or prove wrong. those who oppose it.
10For there are many unruly men, senseless talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,
11whose mouths have to be stopped, who upset entire households, teaching what they should not teach, for the sake of filthy gain.
12One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”
13This witness is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, in order for them to be sound in the belief,
14not paying attention to Yehuḏi fables, and commands of men who turn from the truth.
15Indeed, all matters are clean to the clean, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving no matter is clean, but both their mind and conscience are defiled.
16They profess to know Elohim, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unfit for any good work.#See Mat. 7:21-23; 2Pe. 2:1-22; 1John 2:4; Jude 1:4

Titus 1
1
1Paul, bondman of God, and apostle of Jesus Christ according to the faith of God's elect, and knowledge of the truth which is according to piety; 2in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the ages of time, 3but has manifested in its own due season his word, in the proclamation with which I have been entrusted, according to the commandment of our Saviour God; 4to Titus, my own child according to the faith common to us: Grace and peace from God the Father, and Christ Jesus our Saviour.
5For this cause I left thee in Crete, that thou mightest go on to set right what remained unordered, and establish elders in each city, as I had ordered thee:
6if any one be free from all charge against him, husband of one wife, having believing children not accused of excess or unruly. 7For the overseer must be free from all charge against him as God's steward; not headstrong, not passionate, not disorderly through wine, not a striker, not seeking gain by base means; 8but hospitable, a lover of goodness, discreet, just, pious, temperate, 9clinging to the faithful word according to the doctrine taught, that he may be able both to encourage with sound teaching and refute gainsayers. 10For there are many and disorderly vain speakers and deceivers of people's minds, specially those of the circumcision, 11who must have their mouths stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which ought not to be taught for the sake of base gain. 12One of themselves, a prophet of their own, has said, Cretans are always liars, evil wild beasts, lazy gluttons. 13This testimony is true; for which cause rebuke them severely, that they may be sound in the faith, 14not turning their minds to Jewish fables and commandments of men turning away from the truth. 15All things are pure to the pure; but to the defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. 16They profess to know God, but in works deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and found worthless as to every good work.
