Ḥazon (Revelation) 4

1After this I looked and saw a door having been opened in the heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here and I shall show you what has to take place after this.”
2And immediately I came to be in the Spirit and saw a throne set in the heaven, and One sat on the throne.
3And He who sat there was like a jasper and a ruby stone in appearance. And there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance.
4And around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, dressed in white robes. And they had crowns of gold on their heads.
5And out of the throne came lightnings, and thunders, and voices. And seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of Elohim.
6And before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures, covered with eyes in front and in back.
7And the first living creature was like a lion,#Ezek. 1:10 and the second living creature like a calf,#Ezek. 1:10 and the third living creature had a face like a man,#Ezek. 1:10 and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.#Ezek. 1:10
8And the four living creatures, each having six wings,#Isa. 6:2 were covered with eyes around and within. And they do not cease, day or night, saying, “Set-apart, set-apart, set-apart, יהוה Ěl Shaddai,#Isa. 6:3 who was, and who is, and who is coming!”
9And when the living creatures give esteem and respect and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,
10the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and bow before Him who lives forever and ever, and they cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11“You are worthy, O יהוה, to receive esteem and respect and power,#1Ch. 29:11 for You have created all, and because of Your desire they are, and were created.”

The Heavenly Worship
1After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter. 2#Ezek 1.26-28; 10.1. And immediately I was in the Spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. 3And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. 4And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. 5#Exod 19.16; Rev 8.5; 11.19; 16.18; Ezek 1.13; Rev 1.4. And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. 6#Ezek 1.5-10; 10.14. #Ezek 1.22. And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal.
And in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. 7And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. 8#Ezek 1.18; 10.12; Isa 6.2,3; Exod 3.14. And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying,
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
which was, and is, and is to come.
9And when those beasts give glory and honor and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, 10the four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11Thou art worthy, O Lord,
to receive glory and honor and power:
for thou hast created all things,
and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
