Tehillim (Psalms) 102
102
1O יהוה, hear my prayer, And let my cry come to You.
2Do not hide Your face from me In the day of my distress; Incline Your ear to me; In the day I call, answer me speedily.
3For my days are consumed like smoke, And my bones are burned like a hearth.
4My heart is stricken and withered like grass, For I have forgotten to eat my bread.
5Because of the sound of my sighing My bones have cleaved to my flesh.
6I have been like a pelican of the wilderness, I have been like an owl of the desert.
7I have watched, and I am As a bird alone on the house-top.
8My enemies reproached me all day long, Those who rave against me have sworn against me.
9For I have eaten ashes like bread, And mixed my drink with tears,
10Because of Your displeasure and Your wrath; For You have lifted me up And thrown me down.
11My days are like a shadow that lengthens, And I wither away like grass.
12But You, O יהוה, shall be enthroned forever, And the remembrance of You be to all generations.
13You Yourself shall arise And have compassion on Tsiyon, For the time to favour her, The appointed time, has come.
14For Your servants have been pleased with her stones, And they favour her dust.
15And the nations shall fear the Name of יהוה, And all the sovereigns of the earth Your esteem,
16For יהוה shall build up Tsiyon, He shall appear in His esteem.
17He shall turn unto the prayer of the destitute, And He shall not despise their prayer.
18This is written for a generation to come, So that a people to be created#See Psa. 22:31 praise Yah.
19For He looked down From the height of His set-apart place; From heaven יהוה viewed the earth,
20To hear the groaning of the prisoner, To release those appointed to death,
21To declare the Name of יהוה in Tsiyon, And His praise in Yerushalayim,
22When peoples gather together, And reigns, to serve יהוה.
23He has humbled my strength in the way; He has shortened my days.
24I said, “O my Ěl, Do not take me away in the midst of my days; Your years are throughout all generations.
25“You did found the earth of old, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
26They shall perish, but You remain; And all of them grow old like a garment; You change them like a coat, And they are changed.”
27“But You are the same, And Your years have no end.
28“The sons of Your servants continue, And their seed is established before You.”

Psalms 102
102
Psalm 102
A prayer of an oppressed person, when weak and pouring out grief to the LORD.
1 LORD, hear my prayer!
Let my cry reach you!
2Don’t hide your face from me
in my time of trouble!
Listen to me!
Answer me quickly as I cry out!
3Because my days disappear like smoke,
my bones are burned up as if in an oven;
4my heart is smashed like dried-up grass.
I even forget to eat my food
5because of my intense groans.
My bones are protruding from my skin.
6I’m like some wild owl—
like some screech owl in the desert.
7I lie awake all night.
I’m all alone like a bird on a roof.
8All day long my enemies make fun of me;
those who mock me curse using my name!
9I’ve been eating ashes instead of bread.
I’ve been mixing tears into my drinks
10because of your anger and wrath,
because you picked me up and threw me away.
11My days are like a shadow soon gone.
I’m dried up like dead grass.
12But you, LORD, rule forever!
Your fame lasts from one generation to the next!
13You will stand up—
you’ll have compassion on Zion
because it is time to have mercy on her—
the time set for that has now come!
14Your servants cherish Zion’s stones;
they show mercy even to her dirt.
15The nations will honor the LORD’s name;
all the earth’s rulers will honor your glory
16because the LORD will rebuild Zion;
he will be seen there in his glory.
17God will turn to the prayer of the impoverished;
he won’t despise their prayers.
18Let this be written down for the next generation
so that people not yet created will praise the LORD:
19The LORD looked down from his holy summit,
surveyed the earth from heaven,
20to hear the prisoners’ groans,
to set free those condemned to death,
21that the LORD’s name may be declared in Zion
and his praise declared in Jerusalem,
22when all people are gathered together—
all kingdoms—to serve the LORD.
23God broke my strength in midstride,
cutting my days short.
24I said, “My God, don’t take me away in the prime of life—
your years go on from one generation to the next!
25You laid the earth’s foundations long ago;
the skies are your handiwork.
26These things will pass away, but you will last.
All of these things will wear out like clothing;
you change them like clothes, and they pass on.
27But you are the one!
Your years never end!
28Let your servants’ children live safe;
let your servants’ descendants live secure in your presence.”
