1And יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, saying,
2The children of Yisra’ĕl are to camp, each one by his own banner, beside the sign of his father’s house. Let them camp around the Tent of Appointment at a distance.
3And on the east side, towards sunrise: those of the banner of the camp of Yehuḏah camp according to their divisions. And the leader of the children of Yehuḏah: Naḥshon, son of Amminaḏaḇ.
4And his army with their registered ones: seventy-four thousand six hundred.
5And those camping next to him is the tribe of Yissasḵar, and the leader of the children of Yissasḵar: Nethan’ĕl, son of Tsu‛ar.
6And his army with its registered ones: fifty-four thousand four hundred.
7Then the tribe of Zeḇulun, and the leader of the children of Zeḇulun: Eliyaḇ, son of Ḥĕlon.
8And his army with its registered ones: fifty-seven thousand four hundred.
9All the registered ones of the camp of Yehuḏah, according to their divisions: one hundred and eighty-six thousand four hundred. These depart first.
10On the south side: the banner of the camp of Re’uḇĕn according to their divisions, and the leader of the children of Re’uḇĕn: Elitsur, son of Sheḏĕy’ur.
11And his army with its registered ones: forty-six thousand five hundred.
12And those who camp next to him: the tribe of Shim‛on, and the leader of the children of Shim‛on: Shelumi’ĕl, son of Tsurishaddai.
13And his army with their registered ones: fifty-nine thousand three hundred.
14Then the tribe of Gaḏ, and the leader of the children of Gaḏ: Elyasaph, son of Re‛u’ĕl.#See Explanatory Notes "De’u’el"
15And his army with their registered ones: forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.
16All the registered ones of the camp of Re’uḇĕn, according to their divisions: one hundred and fifty-one thousand four hundred and fifty. And they are the second to depart.
17And the Tent of Appointment, the camp of the Lĕwites, shall move out in the middle of the camps. As they camp, so they move out, everyone in his place, by their banners.
18On the west side: the banner of the camp of Ephrayim according to their divisions, and the leader of the children of Ephrayim: Elishama, son of Ammihuḏ.
19And his army with their registered ones: forty thousand five hundred.
20And next to him the tribe of Menashsheh, and the leader of the children of Menashsheh: Gamli’ĕl, son of Peḏahtsur.
21And his army with their registered ones: thirty-two thousand two hundred.
22Then the tribe of Binyamin, and the leader of the children of Binyamin: Aḇiḏan, son of Giḏ‛oni.
23And his army with their registered ones: thirty-five thousand four hundred.
24All the registered ones of the camp of Ephrayim, according to their divisions: one hundred and eight thousand one hundred. And they are the third to depart.
25On the north side: the banner of the camp of Dan, according to their divisions, and the leader of the children of Dan: Aḥi‛ezer, son of Ammishaddai.
26And his army with their registered ones: sixty-two thousand seven hundred.
27And those who camp next to him: the tribe of Ashĕr, and the leader of the children of Ashĕr: Paḡ‛i’ĕl, son of Oḵran.
28And his army with their registered ones: forty-one thousand five hundred.
29Then the tribe of Naphtali, and the leader of the children of Naphtali: Aḥira, son of Ěnan.
30And his army with their registered ones: fifty-three thousand four hundred.
31All the registered ones of the camp of Dan: one hundred and fifty-seven thousand six hundred. They depart last, with their banners.
32These were registered ones of the children of Yisra’ĕl by their fathers’ houses. All who were registered according to their divisions of the camps: six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.
33But the Lĕwites were not registered among the children of Yisra’ĕl, as יהוה commanded Mosheh.
34And the children of Yisra’ĕl did according to all that יהוה commanded Mosheh. So they camped by their banners and so they departed, each one by his clan, according to their fathers’ houses.

The Camps and Leaders of the Tribes
1And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, 2Every man of the children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard, with the ensign of their father's house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they pitch. 3And on the east side toward the rising of the sun shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies: and Nahshon the son of Ammin´adab shall be captain of the children of Judah. 4And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred. 5And those that do pitch next unto him shall be the tribe of Is´sachar: and Nethan´e-el the son of Zu´ar shall be captain of the children of Is´sachar. 6And his host, and those that were numbered thereof, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred. 7Then the tribe of Zeb´ulun: and Eli´ab the son of Helon shall be captain of the children of Zeb´ulun. 8And his host, and those that were numbered thereof, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred. 9All that were numbered in the camp of Judah were a hundred thousand and fourscore thousand and six thousand and four hundred, throughout their armies: these shall first set forth.
10On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben according to their armies: and the captain of the children of Reuben shall be Eli´zur the son of Shede´ur. 11And his host, and those that were numbered thereof, were forty and six thousand and five hundred. 12And those which pitch by him shall be the tribe of Simeon: and the captain of the children of Simeon shall be Shelu´mi-el the son of Zurishad´dai. 13And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred. 14Then the tribe of Gad: and the captain of the sons of Gad shall be Eli´asaph the son of Reu´el. 15And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty and five thousand and six hundred and fifty. 16All that were numbered in the camp of Reuben were a hundred thousand and fifty and one thousand and four hundred and fifty, throughout their armies: and they shall set forth in the second rank.
17Then the tabernacle of the congregation shall set forward with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camp: as they encamp, so shall they set forward, every man in his place by their standards.
18On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of E´phra-im according to their armies: and the captain of the sons of E´phra-im shall be Elish´ama the son of Ammi´hud. 19And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty thousand and five hundred. 20And by him shall be the tribe of Manas´seh: and the captain of the children of Manas´seh shall be Gama´li-el the son of Pedah´zur. 21And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred. 22Then the tribe of Benjamin: and the captain of the sons of Benjamin shall be Ab´idan the son of Gide-o´ni. 23And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were thirty and five thousand and four hundred. 24All that were numbered of the camp of E´phra-im were a hundred thousand and eight thousand and a hundred, throughout their armies: and they shall go forward in the third rank.
25The standard of the camp of Dan shall be on the north side by their armies: and the captain of the children of Dan shall be Ahi-e´zer the son of Ammishad´dai. 26And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were threescore and two thousand and seven hundred. 27And those that encamp by him shall be the tribe of Asher: and the captain of the children of Asher shall be Pag´i-el the son of Ocran. 28And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty and one thousand and five hundred. 29Then the tribe of Naph´tali: and the captain of the children of Naph´tali shall be Ahi´ra the son of Enan. 30And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred. 31All they that were numbered in the camp of Dan were a hundred thousand and fifty and seven thousand and six hundred: they shall go hindmost with their standards.
32These are those which were numbered of the children of Israel by the house of their fathers: all those that were numbered of the camps throughout their hosts were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty. 33But the Levites were not numbered among the children of Israel; as the Lord commanded Moses.
34And the children of Israel did according to all that the Lord commanded Moses: so they pitched by their standards, and so they set forward, every one after their families, according to the house of their fathers.
