Mattithyahu (Matthew) 28

1But late in the sabbath,#Greek: Sabbaths as it was dawning into day one of the week,#Greek: one of the sabbaths. See Explanatory Notes "First Day of the Week" and also Mark 16:2; Luke 24:1; 1 Cor. 16:2 Miryam from Maḡdala and the other Miryam came to see the tomb.
2And see, there was a great earthquake, for a messenger of יהוה came down out of heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.
3And his appearance was like lightning, and his garments as white as snow.
4And the guards trembled for fear of him, and became like dead men.
5And the messenger responding, said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek יהושע who was impaled.
6“He is not here, for He was raised, as He said. Come, see the place where the Master lay.
7“And go quickly, say to His taught ones that He was raised from the dead, and see, He is going before you to Galil. There you shall see Him. See, I have told you.”
8And they left the tomb quickly, with fear and great joy, and ran to report to His taught ones.
9And as they were going to report to His taught ones, see, יהושע met them, saying, “Greetings!” And they came and held Him by the feet and did bow to Him.
10Then יהושע said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go, report to My brothers, to go to Galil, and they shall see Me there.”
11And while they were going, see, some of the watch having gone into the city, reported to the chief priests all that took place.
12And when they had come together with the elders and taken counsel, they gave enough silver to the soldiers,
13saying, “Say that His taught ones came at night and stole Him away while we slept.
14And if this should be reported to the governor, we shall win him over and keep you out of trouble.
15And having taken the silver they did as they were instructed. And this account was widely spread among the Yehuḏim, to this day.
16And the eleven taught ones went away into Galil, to the mountain which יהושע had appointed for them.
17And when they saw Him, they bowed to Him, but some doubted.
18And יהושע came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19Therefore, go and make taught ones of all the nations, immersing them in the Name#Note the singular of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit,#Not found in the Hebrew Shem Toḇ text,” ...and make taught ones of all the nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit.”
20teaching them to guard all that I have commanded you. And see, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Amĕn.

Matthew 28

Resurrection
1After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the tomb. 2Look, there was a great earthquake, for an angel from the Lord came down from heaven. Coming to the stone, he rolled it away and sat on it. 3Now his face was like lightning and his clothes as white as snow. 4The guards were so terrified of him that they shook with fear and became like dead men. 5But the angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. 6He isn’t here, because he’s been raised from the dead, just as he said. Come, see the place where they laid him. 7Now hurry, go and tell his disciples, ‘He’s been raised from the dead. He’s going on ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there.’ I’ve given the message to you.”
8With great fear and excitement, they hurried away from the tomb and ran to tell his disciples. 9But Jesus met them and greeted them. They came and grabbed his feet and worshipped him. 10Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Go and tell my brothers that I am going into Galilee. They will see me there.”
Guards’ report
11Now as the women were on their way, some of the guards came into the city and told the chief priests everything that had happened. 12They met with the elders and decided to give a large sum of money to the soldiers. 13They told them, “Say that Jesus’ disciples came at night and stole his body while you were sleeping. 14And if the governor hears about this, we will take care of it with him so you will have nothing to worry about.” 15So the soldiers took the money and did as they were told. And this report has spread throughout all Judea to this very day.
Commissioning of the disciples
16Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshipped him, but some doubted. 18Jesus came near and spoke to them, “I’ve received all authority in heaven and on earth. 19Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you. Look, I myself will be with you every day until the end of this present age.”
