Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 24
24
1And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
2“Command the children of Yisra’ĕl that they bring to you clear oil of pressed olives for the light, to make the lamps burn continually.
3“Outside the veil of the Witness, in the Tent of Appointment, Aharon is to arrange it from evening until morning before יהוה continually – a law forever throughout your generations.
4“He is to arrange the lamps on the clean gold lampstand before יהוה continually.
5“And you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it, two-tenths of an ĕphah in each cake.
6“And you shall set them in two rows, six in a row, on the clean table before יהוה.
7“And you shall put clear frankincense on each row, and it shall be on the bread as a remembrance portion, an offering made by fire to יהוה.
8“On every Sabbath he is to arrange it before יהוה continually, from the children of Yisra’ĕl – an everlasting covenant.
9And it shall be for Aharon and his sons, and they shall eat it in the set-apart place, because it is most set-apart to him from the offerings of יהוה made by fire – an everlasting law.” ”
10And the son of an Yisra’ĕli woman, whose father was a Mitsrian man, went out among the children of Yisra’ĕl. And the Yisra’ĕli woman’s son and a man of Yisra’ĕl strove in the camp.
11And the Yisra’ĕli woman’s son blasphemed the Name, and cursed. So they brought him to Mosheh. Now his mother’s name was Shelomith the daughter of Diḇri, of the tribe of Dan.
12And they put him under guard, that it might be declared to them at the mouth of יהוה.
13And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
14“Bring the one who has cursed outside the camp, and all those who heard him shall lay their hands on his head, and all the congregation shall stone him.
15“And speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘Anyone who curses his Elohim shall bear his sin.
16‘And he who blasphemes the Name of יהוה shall certainly be put to death, and all the congregation certainly stone him, the stranger as well as the native. When he blasphemes the Name, he is put to death.
17‘And a man who strikes the being of any man shall certainly be put to death.
18‘And he who strikes a beast repays it, body for body.
19‘And when a man inflicts a blemish upon his neighbour, as he has done so it is done to him:
20‘Fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he inflicts a blemish upon him, so it is done to him.
21‘And he who strikes a beast repays it, and he who strikes a man to death is put to death.
22‘You are to have one right-ruling, for the stranger and for the native, for I am יהוה your Elohim.’ ”
23And Mosheh spoke to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and they brought the one who cursed outside the camp, and stoned him with stones. And the children of Yisra’ĕl did as יהוה commanded Mosheh.

The Lamp
1The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 2Command the people of Israel to bring you pure oil of beaten olives for the lamp, that a light may be kept burning regularly. 3Aaron shall set it up in the tent of meeting, outside the curtain of the covenant,#24.3 Or treaty, or testament; Heb eduth to burn from evening to morning before the Lord regularly; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations. 4He shall set up the lamps on the lampstand of pure gold#24.4 Heb pure lampstand before the Lord regularly.
The Bread for the Tabernacle
5You shall take choice flour, and bake twelve loaves of it; two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each loaf. 6You shall place them in two rows, six in a row, on the table of pure gold.#24.6 Heb pure table 7You shall put pure frankincense with each row, to be a token offering for the bread, as an offering by fire to the Lord. 8Every sabbath day Aaron shall set them in order before the Lord regularly as a commitment of the people of Israel, as a covenant forever. 9They shall be for Aaron and his descendants, who shall eat them in a holy place, for they are most holy portions for him from the offerings by fire to the Lord, a perpetual due.
Blasphemy and Its Punishment
10A man whose mother was an Israelite and whose father was an Egyptian came out among the people of Israel; and the Israelite woman's son and a certain Israelite began fighting in the camp. 11The Israelite woman's son blasphemed the Name in a curse. And they brought him to Moses—now his mother's name was Shelomith, daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan— 12and they put him in custody, until the decision of the Lord should be made clear to them.
13The Lord said to Moses, saying: 14Take the blasphemer outside the camp; and let all who were within hearing lay their hands on his head, and let the whole congregation stone him. 15And speak to the people of Israel, saying: Anyone who curses God shall bear the sin. 16One who blasphemes the name of the Lord shall be put to death; the whole congregation shall stone the blasphemer. Aliens as well as citizens, when they blaspheme the Name, shall be put to death. 17Anyone who kills a human being shall be put to death. 18Anyone who kills an animal shall make restitution for it, life for life. 19Anyone who maims another shall suffer the same injury in return: 20fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; the injury inflicted is the injury to be suffered. 21One who kills an animal shall make restitution for it; but one who kills a human being shall be put to death. 22You shall have one law for the alien and for the citizen: for I am the Lord your God. 23Moses spoke thus to the people of Israel; and they took the blasphemer outside the camp, and stoned him to death. The people of Israel did as the Lord had commanded Moses.
