Iyoḇ (Job) 42
42
1And Iyoḇ answered יהוה and said,
2“You know that You are able to do all, and that no purpose is withheld from You.
3Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge? Therefore I declared but I did not understand, matters too marvellous for me, which I did not know.
4Listen, please, and let me speak. I ask You, then would You make it known to me?’
5I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You.
6Therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”
7And it came to be, after יהוה had spoken these words to Iyoḇ, that יהוה said to Eliphaz the Tĕmanite, “My wrath has burned against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as did My servant Iyoḇ.
8And now, take seven bulls and seven rams, and go to My servant Iyoḇ, and offer up an ascending offering for yourselves. And let My servant Iyoḇ pray for you – for I accept him – lest I punish you; because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as did My servant Iyoḇ.”
9So Eliphaz the Tĕmanite and Bildaḏ the Shuḥite, Tsophar the Na‛amathite went and did as יהוה commanded them. And יהוה accepted the face of Iyoḇ.
10And יהוה turned the captivity of Iyoḇ when he prayed for his friends. And יהוה gave Iyoḇ twice as much as he had before.
11And all his brothers, and all his sisters, and all those who had been his friends before, came to him and ate food with him in his house. And they sympathised with him and comforted him for all the evil that יהוה had brought upon him. And they each gave him a qesitah#A monetary unit of uncertain value, perhaps in the form of a lamb. and each one a ring of gold.
12And יהוה blessed the latter days of Iyoḇ more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.
13And he had seven sons and three daughters.
14And he called the name of the first Yemimah, and the name of the second Qetsi‛ah, and the name of the third Qeren-Happuḵ.
15And in all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Iyoḇ. And their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.
16And after this Iyoḇ lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations.
17And Iyoḇ died, old and satisfied with days.

Job 42
1¶ Then Job answered the Lord, and said,
2I know that thou canst do every thing and that there is no thought hidden from thee.
3Who is he that hides counsel without knowledge? Therefore, I have denounced that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.
4Hear, now, and I will speak; I will ask of thee, and thou shalt cause me to know.
5With my ears I had heard thee; but now my eyes see thee.
6Therefore, I abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes.
7¶ And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz, the Temanite, My wrath has been kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken by me in uprightness, as my slave Job has.
8Therefore, take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my slave Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my slave Job shall pray for you; for only because I will accept him, I shall not deal with you according to your folly, in that ye have not spoken by me in uprightness, like my slave Job.
9So Eliphaz, the Temanite, and Bildad, the Shuhite, and Zophar, the Naamathite, went, and did according as the Lord commanded them; and the Lord accepted Job.
10¶ And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends; also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
11Then all his brethren came unto him and all his sisters and all those that had been of his acquaintance before and ate bread with him in his house; and they condoled him and comforted him over all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him; each one also gave him an ewe, and an earring of gold.
12So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep and six thousand camels and a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand she asses.
13He also had seven sons and three daughters.
14And he called the name of the first, Jemima, and the name of the second, Kezia, and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch.
15And in all the land no women were found as beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.
16After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations.
17So Job died, being old and full of days.
