Iḇ`rim (Hebrews) 10
10
1For the Torah, having a shadow of the good matters to come, and not the image itself of the matters, was never able to make perfect those who draw near with the same slaughter offerings which they offer continually year by year.
2Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered? Because those who served, once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins.
3But in those offerings is a reminder of sins year by year.
4For it is impossible for blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
5Therefore, coming into the world, He says, “Slaughtering and meal offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me.
6“In ascending offerings and offerings for sin You did not delight.
7“Then I said, ‘See, I come – in the roll of the book it has been written concerning Me – to do Your desire, O Elohim.’ ”# Psa. 40:6-8
8Saying above, “Slaughter and meal offering, and ascending offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor delighted in,”# Psa. 40:6 which are offered according to the Torah,
9then He said, “See, I come to do Your desire, O Elohim.”# Psa. 40:8 He takes away the first to establish the second.
10By that desire we have been set apart through the offering of the body of יהושע Messiah once for all.
11And indeed every priest stands day by day doing service, and repeatedly offering the same slaughter offerings which are never able to take away sins.
12But He, having offered one slaughter offering for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of Elohim,
13waiting from that time onward until His enemies are made a footstool for His feet.# Psa. 110:1
14For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are being set apart.
15And the Set-apart Spirit also witnesses to us, for after having said before,
16“This is the covenant that I shall make with them after those days, says יהוה, giving My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I shall write them,”# Jer. 31:33#See also Heb. 8:8-12
17and, “Their sins and their lawlessnesses I shall remember no more.”# Jer. 31:34
18Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer a slaughter offering for sin.
19So, brothers, having boldness to enter into the Set-apart Place by the blood of יהושע,
20by a new and living way which He instituted for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,
21and having a High Priest over the House of Elohim,
22let us draw near with a true heart in completeness of belief, having our hearts sprinkled from a wicked conscience and our bodies washed with clean water.#See Ezek. 36:25
23Let us hold fast the confession of our expectation without yielding, for He who promised is trustworthy.
24And let us be concerned for one another in order to stir up love and good works,#See Mat. 16:27
25not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging, and so much more as you see the day coming near.
26For if we sin purposely after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a slaughter offering for sins,#See also Heb. 6:6 This type of sinning is in contrast with sinning ignorantly – Heb. 9:7; Num. 15:15-28
27but some fearsome anticipation of judgment, and a fierce fire which is about to consume the opponents.# Isa. 26:11
28Anyone who has disregarded the Torah of Mosheh dies without compassion on the witness of two or three witnesses.
29How much worse punishment do you think shall he deserve who has trampled the Son of Elohim underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was set apart as common, and insulted the Spirit of favour?
30For we know Him who has said, “Vengeance is Mine, I shall repay, says יהוה.” And again, “יהוה shall judge His people.”# Deu. 32:35, 36
31It is fearsome to fall into the hands of the living Elohim.
32But remember the former days, when, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings.
33On the one hand you were exposed to reproaches and pressures, and on the other hand you became sharers with those who were so treated,
34for you sympathised with me in my chains, and you accepted with joy the seizure of your possessions, knowing that you have a better and a lasting possession for yourselves in the heavens.
35Do not, then, lose your boldness, which has great reward.
36For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the desire of Elohim, you receive the promise:
37“For yet a little while – He who is coming shall come and shall not delay.”
38“But the righteous shall live by belief, but if anyone draws back, my being has no pleasure in him.”# Hab. 2:3, 4
39But we are not of those who draw back to destruction, but of belief to the preservation of life.

Hebrews 10
10
1For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near. 2Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins? 3But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins. 4For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. 5Therefore when he comes into the world, he says,
“You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering,
but you prepared a body for me.
6You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.
7Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me)
to do your will, O God.’”#Psalms 40:6-8
8Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the law), 9then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second, 10by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins, 12but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God, 13from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet. 14For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. 15The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,
16“This is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days,” says the Lord,
“I will put my laws on their heart,
I will also write them on their mind;”#Jeremiah 31:33
then he says,
17“I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.”#Jeremiah 31:34
18Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh, 21and having a great priest over God’s house, 22let’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and having our body washed with pure water, 23let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.
24Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, 25not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
26For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins, 27but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries. 28A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses. 29How much worse punishment do you think he will be judged worthy of who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me. I will repay,” says the Lord.#Deuteronomy 32:35 Again, “The Lord will judge his people.”#Deuteronomy 32:36; Psalms 135:14 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: 33partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions, and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so. 34For you both had compassion on me in my chains and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens. 35Therefore don’t throw away your boldness, which has a great reward. 36For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
37“In a very little while,
he who comes will come and will not wait.
38But the righteous one will live by faith.
If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”#Habakkuk 2:3-4
39But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.
