Dani’ĕl (Daniel) 12
12
1“Now at that time Miḵa’ĕl shall stand up, the great head who is standing over the sons of your people. And there shall be a time of distress, such as never was since there was a nation, until that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book,
2and many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth wake up, some to everlasting life, and some to reproaches, everlasting abhorrence.
3“And those who have insight shall shine like the brightness of the expanse, and those who lead many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.
4“But you, Dani’ĕl, hide the words, and seal the book until the time of the end.#See Dan. 12:9 Many shall diligently search and knowledge shall increase.”
5Then I, Dani’ĕl, looked and saw two others standing, one on this bank of the river and the other on that bank.
6And one said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long until the end of these wonders?”
7And I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, and he held up his right hand and his left hand to the heavens, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it would be for an appointed time, appointed times, and half a time. And when they have ended scattering the power of the set-apart people, then all these shall be completed.
8And I heard, but I did not understand, so I said, “My master, what is the latter end of these matters?”
9And he said, “Go, Dani’ĕl, for the words are hidden and sealed till the time of the end.#See Dan. 12:4
10“Many shall be cleansed and made white, and refined. But the wrong shall do wrong – and none of the wrong shall understand, but those who have insight shall understand.
11“And from the time that which is continual is taken away, and the abomination that lays waste is set up, is one thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12“Blessed is he who is waiting earnestly, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.
13“But you, go your way till the end. And rest, and arise to your lot at the end of the days.”

The Time of the End
1“Daniel, at that time Michael, the great prince, will stand up. (He is the one who protects your people.) There will be a time of much trouble. It will be the worst time since nations have been on earth. But your people will be saved. Everyone whose name is written in God’s book will be saved. 2Many people who have already died will live again. Some of them will wake up to have life forever. But some will wake up to find shame and disgrace forever. 3The wise people will shine like the brightness of the sky. Those who teach others to live right will shine like stars forever and ever.
4“But you, Daniel, close up the book and seal it. These things will happen at the time of the end. Many people will go here and there to find true knowledge.”
5Then I, Daniel, looked, and I saw two other men. One was standing on my side of the river. And the other was standing on the far side. 6The man who was dressed in linen was standing over the water in the river. One of the two men spoke to him. He asked, “How long will it be before these amazing things come true?”
7The man dressed in linen who stood over the water raised his hands toward heaven. And I heard him make a promise. He used the name of God who lives forever. He said, “It will be for three and one-half years. The power of the holy people will finally be broken. Then all these things will come true.”
8I heard the answer, but I did not really understand. So I asked, “Master, what will happen after all these things come true?”
9He answered, “Go your way, Daniel. The message is closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 10Many people will be made clean, pure and spotless. But the wicked will continue to be wicked. And those wicked people will not understand these things. But the wise people will understand them.
11“The daily sacrifice will be stopped. There will be 1,290 days from that time. Then the horrible thing that destroys will be set up. 12Those who wait for the end of the 1,335 days will be happy.
13“As for you, Daniel, go your way till the end. You will get your rest when you die. And at the end you will rise from the dead to get your reward.”
