Qolasim (Colossians) 2
2
1For I wish you to know what a great struggle I have for you and those in Laodikeia, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh,
2in order that their hearts might be encouraged, being knit together in love, and to all riches of the entire confirmation of understanding, to a true knowledge of the secret of Elohim, and of the Father, and of the Messiah,
3in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.#See Isa. 11:2; Col. 2:9
4And this I say, so that no one deceives you with enticing words.
5For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your belief in Messiah.
6Therefore, as you accepted Messiah יהושע the Master, walk in Him,
7having been rooted and built up in Him, and established in the belief, as you were taught, overflowing in it with thanksgiving.
8See to it that no one makes a prey of you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary matters of the world,#See Col. 1:20 and Gal. 4:3; Gal. 4:9 and not according to Messiah.
9Because in Him dwells all the completeness of Elohim-ness bodily,
10and you have been made complete in Him, who is the Head of all principality and authority.
11In Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Messiah,
12having been buried with Him in immersion, in which you also were raised with Him through the belief in the working of Elohim, who raised Him from the dead.
13And you, being dead in your trespasses#See Eph. 2:1 and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
14having blotted out that which was written by hand against us – by the dogmas#Dogmas - also see Col. 2:20 and Eph. 2:15 – which stood against us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the stake.
15Having stripped the principalities and the authorities, He made a public display of them, having prevailed over them in it.
16Let no one therefore judge you in eating or in drinking, or in respect of a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths –
17which are a shadow of what is to come – but the Body of the Messiah.#The Body of Messiah is to give ruling on all matters, not the outsiders! See also Mat. 18:15-20
18Let no one deprive you of the prize, one who takes delight in false humility and worship of messengers, taking his stand on what he has not seen, puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the Body – nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments – grows with the growth of Elohim.
20If, then, you died with Messiah from the elementary matters#See Col. 2:8 and Gal. 4:3; Gal. 4:9 of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to dogmas:#Dogmas - also see Col. 2:14 and Eph. 2:15
21“Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle” –
22which are all to perish with use – according to the commands and teachings of men?# Isa. 29:13#See also Mat. 15:8, 9 Mark 7:6, 7
23These indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed worship, humiliation and harsh treatment of the body – of no value at all, only for satisfaction of the flesh.

Colossians 2
2
1I want you to know how hard I am contending for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally. 2My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments. 5For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.
Spiritual Fullness in Christ
6So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
8See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces#2:8 Or the basic principles; also in verse 20 of this world rather than on Christ.
9For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. 11In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh#2:11 In contexts like this, the Greek word for flesh (sarx) refers to the sinful state of human beings, often presented as a power in opposition to the Spirit; also in verse 13. was put off when you were circumcised by#2:11 Or put off in the circumcision of Christ, 12having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
13When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you#2:13 Some manuscripts us alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. 15And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.#2:15 Or them in him
Freedom From Human Rules
16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. 18Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind. 19They have lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.
20Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: 21“Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”? 22These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. 23Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.
