Qorintiyim Bĕt (2 Corinthians) 1
1
1Sha’ul, an emissary of יהושע Messiah, by the desire of Elohim, and Timotiyos the brother, to the assembly of Elohim that is at Corinth, with all the set-apart ones who are in all Achaia:
2Favour to you and peace from Elohim our Father and the Master יהושע Messiah.
3Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Master יהושע Messiah, the Father of compassion and Elohim of all comfort,
4who is comforting us in all our pressure, enabling us to comfort those who are in every pressure, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by Elohim.
5Because, as the sufferings of Messiah overflow in us, so our comfort also overflows through Messiah.
6And if we suffer pressure, it is for your comfort and deliverance, being worked out in enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort and deliverance.
7And our expectation for you is steadfast, because we know that as you are sharing in the sufferings – so also in the comfort.
8For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brothers, of our pressure which came to us in Asia, that we were weighed down, exceedingly,#See 2Cor. 4:8, 9; 2Cor. 4:17 beyond ability, so that we despaired even of life.
9Indeed, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in Elohim who raises the dead,
10who rescued us from so great a death, and does rescue, in whom we trust that He shall still rescue us,
11you also helping together in prayer for us, that thanks shall be given by many on our behalf for the favour bestowed upon us through many.
12For our boasting is this: the witness of our conscience that we behaved ourselves in the world in simplicity and sincerity of Elohim, not in fleshly wisdom but in the favour of Elohim, and much more toward you.
13For we are not writing any other matters to you than what you read or understand. Now I trust you shall understand, even to the end,
14as also you have understood us in part, that we are your boast as you also are ours, in the day of the Master יהושע.
15And relying on this I intended to come to you before, that you might twice receive a favour,
16and to pass your way into Makedonia, and again from Makedonia come to you, and to be sent by you on my way to Yehuḏah.
17Since I intended this, did I do it lightly? Or what I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be Yes, Yes, and No, No?
18But Elohim is trustworthy, that our word to you was not Yes and No.
19For the Son of Elohim, יהושע Messiah, who was proclaimed among you by us – by me, Silas, and Timotiyos – was not Yes and No, but in Him was Yes.
20For as many promises as are of Elohim, in Him they are Yes, and in Him Amĕn, to the esteem of Elohim through us.
21But He who establishes us with you in Messiah and has anointed us is Elohim,
22who also sealed us, and gave the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.
23And I call Elohim as witness against my being, that to spare you I came no more to Corinth.
24Not that we rule over your belief, but we are fellow workers for your joy, for you stand by belief.

2 Corinthians 1
1
Salutation
1Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
To the church of God that is in Corinth, including all the saints throughout Achaia:
2Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Paul's Thanksgiving after Affliction
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, 4who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God. 5For just as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant through Christ. 6If we are being afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation; if we are being consoled, it is for your consolation, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we are also suffering. 7Our hope for you is unshaken; for we know that as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our consolation.
8We do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters,#1.8 Gk brothers of the affliction we experienced in Asia; for we were so utterly, unbearably crushed that we despaired of life itself. 9Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death so that we would rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead. 10He who rescued us from so deadly a peril will continue to rescue us; on him we have set our hope that he will rescue us again, 11as you also join in helping us by your prayers, so that many will give thanks on our#1.11 Other ancient authorities read your behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.
The Postponement of Paul's Visit
12Indeed, this is our boast, the testimony of our conscience: we have behaved in the world with frankness#1.12 Other ancient authorities read holiness and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God—and all the more toward you. 13For we write you nothing other than what you can read and also understand; I hope you will understand until the end— 14as you have already understood us in part—that on the day of the Lord Jesus we are your boast even as you are our boast.
15Since I was sure of this, I wanted to come to you first, so that you might have a double favor;#1.15 Other ancient authorities read pleasure 16I wanted to visit you on my way to Macedonia, and to come back to you from Macedonia and have you send me on to Judea. 17Was I vacillating when I wanted to do this? Do I make my plans according to ordinary human standards,#1.17 Gk according to the flesh ready to say “Yes, yes” and “No, no” at the same time? 18As surely as God is faithful, our word to you has not been “Yes and No.” 19For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you, Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not “Yes and No”; but in him it is always “Yes.” 20For in him every one of God's promises is a “Yes.” For this reason it is through him that we say the “Amen,” to the glory of God. 21But it is God who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us, 22by putting his seal on us and giving us his Spirit in our hearts as a first installment.
23But I call on God as witness against me: it was to spare you that I did not come again to Corinth. 24I do not mean to imply that we lord it over your faith; rather, we are workers with you for your joy, because you stand firm in the faith.
