Tas`loniqim Aleph (1 Thessalonians) 5
5
1Now, brothers, as to the times and the seasons, you do not need to be written to.
2For you yourselves know very well that the day of יהוה comes as a thief in the night.
3For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then suddenly destruction comes upon them, as labour pains upon a pregnant woman, and they shall not escape.
4But you, brothers, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.
5For you are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
6So, then, we should not sleep, as others do, but we should watch and be sober.
7For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.
8But we who are of the day should be sober, putting on the breastplate of belief and love, and as a helmet the expectation of deliverance.# Isa. 59:17
9Because Elohim did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain deliverance through our Master יהושע Messiah,
10who died for us, so that we, whether awake or asleep, should live together with Him.
11Therefore encourage one another, and build up one another, as indeed you do.
12But brothers, we beg you to know those who labour among you, and are over you in the Master and admonish you,
13and to hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.
14And we appeal to you, brothers, warn those who are disorderly, encourage the faint-hearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.
15See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
16Rejoice always,
17pray without ceasing,
18in all circumstances give thanks, for this is the desire of Elohim in Messiah יהושע for you.
19Do not quench the Spirit.
20Do not despise prophecies,
21prove them all. Hold fast what is good.
22Keep back from every form of wickedness.
23And the Elohim of peace Himself set you completely apart, and your entire spirit, and being, and body - be preserved blameless at the coming of our Master יהושע Messiah!
24He who calls you is trustworthy, who also shall do it.
25Brothers, pray for us.
26Greet all the brothers with a set-apart kiss.
27I charge you by the Master that this letter be read to all the set-apart brothers.
28The favour of our Master יהושע Messiah be with you. Amĕn.

1 Thessalonians 5
5
1Brothers and sisters, we don't need to write anything to you about prophetic times and dates. 2You yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3When people talk about peace and security suddenly they will be completely ruined. It will be just like the sudden onset of childbirth, and they certainly won't escape. 4But you, brothers and sisters, are not in the dark about this so that you won't be caught by surprise when the Day of Judgment#5:4. Literally, “Day.” arrives suddenly like a thief. 5For you are all children of light and children of the day. We don't belong to the night or to darkness. 6So then we shouldn't be sleeping like everybody else—we should stay awake and keep ourselves clear-headed. 7For it's during the night that people sleep; and it's at night that they get drunk. 8But since we belong to the day we should keep our heads clear. We strap on the breastplate of trust and love. We put on the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9For God hasn't placed us in a position to be punished, but has reserved us for salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10He's the one who died for#5:10. “For” in the sense of “for the sake of” rather than “in place of.” us so that whether we're alive or dead we shall live together with him. 11So encourage and strengthen one another, just as you are doing.
12Brothers and sisters, we're asking you to respect those who work with you, who lead you in the Lord and teach you. 13You should value them highly in love for the work they do. Live in peace with each other. 14We urge you, brothers and sisters, to warn those who are lazy, encourage those who are anxious, help those who are weak, and be patient with everyone. 15Make sure none of you pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to one another, and to everyone. 16Always be full of joy, 17never stop praying, 18be thankful in every situation—because this is what God in Christ Jesus wants you to do. 19Don't hold the Spirit back, 20don't look down on prophecy, 21make sure to check everything. Hold on to whatever is good; 22keep away from every kind of evil.
23May the God of peace himself make you completely holy, and may your whole being—body, mind and spirit—be kept blameless for when our Lord Jesus Christ returns. 24The one who calls you is trustworthy, and he will do this. 25Brothers and sisters, pray for us. 26Greet all the believers there affectionately.#5:26. Literally, “with a holy kiss.” 27I'm requiring you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the believers. 28May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
