Leviticus 19
19
Holiness Code
1Adonai spoke to Moses saying:
2“Speak to all the congregation of Bnei-Yisrael and tell them: You shall be kedoshim, for I, Adonai your God, am holy.
3“Each one of you is to respect his mother and his father, and keep My Shabbatot. I am Adonai your God.
4“Do not turn to idols, or make molten gods for yourselves. I am Adonai your God.
5“When you bring a sacrifice of fellowship offerings to Adonai, you are to offer it so that you may be accepted.
6It is to be eaten the same day you offer it, and the next day. But if anything remains until the third day, it is to be burned with fire.
7If it is eaten at all on the third day, it is disgusting. It will not be accepted.
8Rather, anyone who eats it will bear his iniquity, since he has profaned what is holy to Adonai, and that soul will be cut off from his people.
9“When you reap the harvest of your land, you are not to reap to the very corners of your field, nor are you to gather the gleanings of your harvest.
10You are not to pick the remnants of your vineyard, nor are you to gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard. Instead, you are to leave them for the poor and for the outsider. I am Adonai your God.
11“You are not to steal. You are not to lie. You are not to deceive one another.
12“You are not to swear by My Name falsely, and so profane the Name of your God. I am Adonai.
13“You are not to oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired servant are not to remain with you all night until the morning.
14“You are not to curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall fear your God. I am Adonai.
15“You are to do no injustice in judgment. You are not to be partial toward the poor nor show favoritism toward the great, but you are to judge your neighbor with fairness.
16“You are not to go up and down as a talebearer among your people. You are not to endanger the life of your neighbor. I am Adonai.
17“You are not to hate your brother in your heart. Instead, you are to firmly rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.
18You are not to take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am Adonai.
19“You must keep My statutes. You are not to crossbreed different kinds of animals. You are not to sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor are you to wear a garment woven of two kinds of material.
20“If a man lies sexually with a woman who is a slave girl, pledged to be married to another man, but not ransomed or given her freedom, they are both to be punished. But they are not to be put to death, because she was not free.
21He is to bring his trespass offering to Adonai, to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting—a ram for a guilt offering.
22The kohen is to make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before Adonai for his sin that he committed, and the sin that he committed will be forgiven him.
23“When you come into the land and have planted all kinds of trees for food, you are to consider their fruit as forbidden. Three years it will be forbidden to you. It is not to be eaten.
24Then in the fourth year all its fruit will be holy, for giving praise to Adonai.
25In the fifth year you may eat its fruit. So it will yield its increase to you. I am Adonai your God.
26“You are not to eat any meat with the blood still in it, nor are you to use enchantments, or practice sorcery.
27“You are not to round off the hair on the sides of your heads, nor are you to mar the edge of your beard.
28You are not to make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead or make any tattoo marks upon yourself. I am Adonai.
29“Do not defile your daughter, to make her a prostitute, so that the land does not fall into prostitution, and become full of wickedness.
30“You are to keep My Shabbatot, and reverence My Sanctuary. I am Adonai.
31“Do not turn to those who are mediums or to soothsayers. Do not seek them out to be defiled by them. I am Adonai your God.
32“You are to rise up in the presence of the gray-haired and honor the presence of the elderly. So you will fear your God. I am Adonai.
33“If an outsider dwells with you in your land, you shall do him no wrong.
34The outsider dwelling among you should be to you as the native-born among you. You should love him as yourself—for you dwelled as outsiders in the land of Egypt. I am Adonai your God.
35“You must not be dishonest in judgment—in measurements of length, weight or of quantity.
36You are to have honest balances, honest weights, honest bushel-measure and an honest gallon. I am Adonai your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
37You must observe all My statutes and all My ordinances—do them. I am Adonai.”

Leviticus 19
19
1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy. 3Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and ye shall keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God. 4Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God. 5And when ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall offer it that ye may be accepted. 6It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if aught remain until the third day, it shall be burnt with fire. 7And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is an abomination; it shall not be accepted: 8but every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the holy thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from his people. 9And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleaning of thy harvest. 10And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather the fallen fruit of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am the LORD your God.
11Ye shall not steal; neither shall ye deal falsely, nor lie one to another. 12And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, so that thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD. 13Thou shalt not oppress thy neighbour, nor rob him: the wages of a hired servant shall not abide with thee all night until the morning. 14Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but thou shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD. 15Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgement: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour. 16Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD. 17Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt surely rebuke thy neighbour, and not bear sin because of him. 18Thou shalt not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
19Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with two kinds of seed: neither shall there come upon thee a garment of two kinds of stuff mingled together. 20And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; they shall be punished; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. 21And he shall bring his guilt offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tent of meeting, even a ram for a guilt offering. 22And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath sinned: and he shall be forgiven for his sin which he hath sinned. 23And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as their uncircumcision: three years shall they be as uncircumcised unto you; it shall not be eaten. 24But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy, for giving praise unto the LORD. 25And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God. 26Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantments, nor practise augury. 27Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard. 28Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. 29Profane not thy daughter, to make her a harlot; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.
30Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD. 31Turn ye not unto them that have familiar spirits, nor unto the wizards; seek them not out, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God. 32Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and thou shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD. 33And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not do him wrong. 34The stranger that sojourneth with you shall be unto you as the homeborn among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. 35Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgement, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure. 36Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt. 37And ye shall observe all my statutes, and all my judgements, and do them: I am the LORD.
