Israel and Judah’s Descendants
1These are the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,
2Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad and Asher.
3The sons of Judah: Er, Onan and Shelah—the three were born to him by Bath-shua the Canaanite woman. But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of Adonai, so He put him to death.
4Then Tamar his daughter-in-law bore him Perez and Zerah. Judah had five sons in all.
5The sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul.
6The sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol and Dara, five in all.
7The sons of Carmi: Achar, the troubler of Israel who violated the ban of devoted things.
8The sons of Ethan: Azariah.
9The sons of Hezron who were born to him: Jerahmeel, Ram and Chelubai.
10Ram fathered Amminadab; Amminadab fathered Nahshon, the leader of the children of Judah.
11Nahshon fathered Salma; Salma fathered Boaz.
12Boaz fathered Obed; Obed fathered Jesse.
13Jesse fathered Eliab his firstborn, Abinadab was second, Shimea third,
14Nethanel fourth, Raddai fifth,
15Ozem sixth, and David seventh.
16Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. The three sons of Zeruiah were Abishai, Joab and Asahel.
17Abigail bore Amasa, and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmaelite.
18Caleb son of Hezron fathered children by Azubah his wife and by Jerioth. These were her sons: Jesher, Shobab and Ardon.
19When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath, who bore him Hur.
20Hur fathered Uri and Uri fathered Bezalel.
21Afterward Hezron had relations with the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead—he had married her when he was 60 years old—and she bore him Segub.
22Segub fathered Jair, who had 23 cities in the land of Gilead.
23But Geshur and Aram took the towns of Jair from them, along with Kenath and its surrounding villages, 60 towns. All these were the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.
24After the death of Hezron in Caleb-ephrath, Abijah, Hezron’s wife, bore him Ashhur the father of Tekoa.
25Now the sons of Jerahmeel, the firstborn of Hezron: Ram the firstborn, then Bunah, Oren, Ozem and Ahijah.
26Jerahmeel had another wife whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.
27The sons of Ram, the firstborn of Jerahmeel: Maaz, Jamin and Eker.
28The sons of Onam: Shammai and Jada. The sons of Shammai: Nadab and Abishur.
29The name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail, and she bore him Ahban and Molid.
30The sons of Nadab: Seled and Appaim, but Seled died without children.
31The sons of Appaim: Ishi, who was the father of Sheshan. Sheshan was the father of Ahlai.
32The sons of Jada the brother of Shammai: Jeter and Jonathan—Jeter died without sons.
33The sons of Jonathan: Pelet and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.
34Now Sheshan had no sons, only daughters. But Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.
35So Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant as a wife, and she bore him Attai.
36Then Attai fathered Nathan, and Nathan fathered Zabad.
37Zabad fathered Ephlal and Ephlal fathered Obed.
38Obed fathered Jehu, and Jehu fathered Azariah.
39Azariah fathered Helez, and Helez fathered Eleasah.
40Eleasah fathered Sisamai, and Sisamai fathered Shallum.
41 Shallum fathered Jekamiah, and Jekamiah fathered Elishama.
42Now the sons of Caleb, the brother of Jerahmeel: Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph, and his son Mareshah the father of Hebron.
43The sons of Hebron: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem and Shema.
44Shema fathered Raham, the father of Jorkeam. Rekem fathered Shammai.
45The son of Shammai was Maon and Maon was the father of Beth-Zur.
46Ephah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Haran, Moza and Gazez; and Haran fathered Gazez.
47The sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah and Shaaph.
48Maacah, Caleb’s concubine, bore Sheber and Tirhanah.
49She also bore Shaaph the father of Madmanna h, Sheba the father of Machbenah and the father of Gibea. The daughter of Caleb was Achsah.
50These were the descendants of Caleb. The sons of Hur the firstborn of Ephrath: Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim,
51Salma the father of Beth-lehem and Hareph the father of Beth-gader.
52Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim had sons: Haroeh, half of the Menuhites.
53The clans of Kiriath-jearim: the Itrites, the Puhtites, the Shumathites, the Mishraites; from them came the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites.
54The sons of Salma: Beth-lehem, the Netophathites, Atroth-beth-joab, half the Manahathites, the Zorites,
55and the clans of scribes who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and the Sucathites. These were the Kenites who descended from Hammath, the father of the Rechabites.

1These are the sons of Isra’el: Re’uven, Shim‘on, Levi, Y’hudah, Yissakhar, Z’vulun, 2Dan, Yosef, Binyamin, Naftali, Gad and Asher.
3The sons of Y’hudah: ‘Er, Onan and Shelah; the mother of these three was Bat-Shua the Kena‘anit. ‘Er, Y’hudah’s firstborn, was wicked from Adonai’s perspective, so he killed him. 4Tamar his daughter-in-law bore him Peretz and Zerach; thus Y’hudah had five sons altogether.
5The sons of Peretz: Hetzron and Hamul. 6The sons of Zerach: Zimri, Eitan, Heiman, Kalkol and Dara — five of them altogether. 7The sons of Karmi: ‘Akhar [troubler], who troubled Isra’el by violating the rule concerning things set aside to be destroyed. 8The son of Eitan: ‘Azaryah.
9The sons born to Hetzron: Yerachme’el, Ram and K’luvai. 10Ram fathered ‘Amminadav; ‘Amminadav fathered Nachshon prince of the descendants of Y’hudah; 11Nachshon fathered Salma; Salma fathered Bo‘az; 12Bo‘az fathered ‘Oved; ‘Oved fathered Yishai; 13and Yishai fathered Eli’av his firstborn, Avinadav second, Shim‘a third, 14N’tan’el fourth, Radai fifth, 15Otzem sixth, David seventh, 16and their sisters Tz’ruyah and Avigayil. The sons of Tz’ruyah: Avshai, Yo’av and ‘Asah’el, three of them. 17Avigayil was the mother of ‘Amasa; the father of ‘Amasa was Yeter the Yishma‘eli.
18Kalev the son of Hetzron fathered sons with ‘Azuvah his wife (and with Yeri‘ot); these were her sons: Yesher, Shovav and Ardon. 19After ‘Azuvah died, Kalev married Efrat, who bore him Hur. 20Hur fathered Uri, and Uri fathered B’tzal’el. 21Afterwards, Hetzron had sexual relations with the daughter of Machir the father of Gil‘ad; he married her when he was sixty years old, and she bore him S’guv. 22S’guv fathered Ya’ir, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gil‘ad. 23(But G’shur and Aram took Havot-Ya’ir away from them, along with K’nat and its villages — sixty cities.) All these were descendants of Machir the father of Gil‘ad.
24After Hetzron died in Kalev-Efratah, Aviyah Hetzron’s wife bore him Ash’chur the father of T’koa.
25The sons of Yerachme’el Hetzron’s firstborn: Ram the firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Otzem and Achiyah. 26Yerachme’el had another wife, whose name was ‘Atarah; she was the mother of Onam. 27The sons of Ram the firstborn son of Yerachme’el: Ma‘atz, Yamin and ‘Eker. 28The sons of Onam: Shamai and Yada. The sons of Shamai: Nadav and Avishur. 29Avishur’s wife was named Avichayil, and she bore him Achban and Molid. 30The sons of Nadav: Seled and Apayim. Seled died without having any children. 31The son of Apayim: Yish‘i. The son of Yish‘i: Sheshan. The son of Sheshan: Achlai. 32The sons of Yada the brother of Shamai: Yeter and Yonatan. Yeter died without having any children. 33The sons of Yonatan: Pelet and Zaza. These were the descendants of Yerachme’el.
34Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Yarcha; 35Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to Yarcha his servant, and she bore him ‘Atai. 36‘Atai fathered Natan, Natan fathered Zavad, 37Zavad fathered Eflal, Eflal fathered ‘Oved, 38‘Oved fathered Yehu, Yehu fathered ‘Azaryah, 39‘Azaryah fathered Heletz, Heletz fathered El‘asah, 40El‘asah fathered Sismai, Sismai fathered Shalum, 41Shalum fathered Y’kamyah and Y’kamyah fathered Elishama.
42The sons of Kalev the brother of Yerachme’el: Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Zif; and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hevron. 43The sons of Hevron: Korach, Tapuach, Rekem and Shema. 44Shema fathered Racham the father of Yorke‘am, and Rekem fathered Shamai. 45The son of Shamai was Ma‘on, and Ma‘on was the father of Beit-Tzur. 46‘Eifah, Kalev’s concubine, bore Haran, Motza and Gazez; and Haran fathered Gazez. 47The sons of Yahdai: Regem, Yotam, Geshan, Pelet, ‘Eifah and Sha‘af. 48Ma‘akhah, Kalev’s concubine, bore Shever and Tirchanah. 49[The wife of] Sha‘af the father of Madmanah bore Sh’va the father of Machbenah and the father of Giv‘a. The daughter of Kalev was ‘Akhsah. 50These were the descendants of Kalev.
The sons of Hur the firstborn of Efratah: Shoval the father of Kiryat-Ye‘arim, 51Salma the father of Beit-Lechem and Haref the father of Beit-Gader. 52Shoval the father of Kiryat-Ye‘arim had sons: HaRo’eh and half of the [inhabitants of] M’nuchot. 53The families of Kiryat-Ye‘arim: the Yitri, the Puti, the Shumati and the Mishra‘i; from them came the Tzor‘ati and the Eshta’uli. 54The sons of Salma: Beit-Lechem, the N’tofati, ‘Atrot-Beit-Yo’av, half of the Manachati, the Tzor‘i, 55the families of scribes that lived in Ya‘betz, the Tir‘atim, the Shim‘atim and the Sukhatim. These are the Kinim, who came from Hamat, father of the house of Rekhav.
