Matthew 12:9-12

“Our hearts are restless till they find their rest in Thee.” Never before have so many of us felt the restlessness Augustine described with this famous sentence. But what is the solution to our lack of true rest? As this three day plan will show, the solution partially lies in viewing the ancient practice of Sabbath through a different lens—through the lens of “Thee”—Jesus—our ultimate source of peace.

Infinitum is a way of life centered on following Jesus by loving God and loving others through an emphasis on the habits and disciplines of surrender, generosity, and mission. We aim to see the Bible and also the world through these Jesus-colored lenses. This short reading plan is based on the theme – Follow Jesus.

We live in a fast-paced world that tempts us to never stop. There is always more to do and more to hustle. Yet since Creation, God has instituted a regular day of rest called the Sabbath. To answer whether Christians should honor the Sabbath in our modern lives, let’s look at the importance of it, God’s intent with it, and how it can be applied to our modern lives.
