Exodus 28:3

For millennia, God’s people have been carrying out a weekly Bible study plan. Every year, they read through the Torah from Genesis to Deuteronomy. In synagogue each week, they read and study a Bible passage—the weekly parshah. This week’s parshah is called “Tetzaveh,” which is Hebrew for “you shall command,” and covers Exodus 27:20-30:10.

Can God restore you? Maybe you’ve made too many mistakes or proven yourself untrustworthy. Life has offered so many twists and turns you feel defeated. You can’t find your way back. There’s been too much hurt and extensive loss that you wonder if you are worth the trouble. You need to know the God of the Bible brings a message of hope to you. He is a God of restoration. 

Solomon’s story is a powerful reminder that even the wisest and most blessed among us can falter when our hearts drift from wholehearted devotion to God. Despite building the temple and experiencing God’s presence, Solomon allowed compromise and divided loyalties to take root, leading him away from the One who had given him everything. His journey calls us to examine our own lives, to guard against the subtle pull of lesser loves, and to seek a faith that endures—anchored in worship, obedience, and an undivided heart for God.

God never called us to live halfway committed lives. From the beginning, He has desired a people set apart—devoted fully to Him. Consecration isn’t just for pastors, missionaries, or leaders.
