Exodus 6

CHAPTER 6
1And the Lord said to Moses, Now thou shalt see, what things I shall do to Pharaoh; for by [a] strong hand he shall deliver them, that is, the sons of Israel, and in [a] mighty hand he shall cast them out of his land.
2And the Lord spake to Moses, and said, I am the Lord,
3that appeared to Abraham, and to Isaac, and to Jacob, I am Almighty God; and I showed not to them my great name Adonai, that is, Tetragrammaton.
4and I made [a] covenant with them, that I should give to them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they were comelings.
5I heard the wailing of the sons of Israel, in which the Egyptians oppressed them, and I had mind of my covenant.
6Therefore say thou to the sons of Israel, I am the Lord, that shall lead you out of the prison of the Egyptians; and I shall deliver you from servage; and I shall again-buy you in an arm straight out, and in great dooms;
7and I shall take you to me into a people, and I shall be your God; and ye shall know, for I am your Lord God, which have led you out of the prison of Egyptians,
8and have led you into the land, on which I raised [up] mine hand, that I should give it to Abraham, and to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I shall give to you that land to be had in possession; I [am] the Lord.
9Therefore Moses told all things to the sons of Israel, which assented not to him for the anguish of spirit, and for the full hard work by which they were troubled.
10And the Lord spake to Moses, and said,
11Enter thou, and speak to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, that he deliver the children of Israel from his land.
12Moses answered before the Lord, Lo! the children of Israel hear not me; and how shall Pharaoh hear, mostly since I am uncircumcised in lips?
13And the Lord spake to Moses and to Aaron, and he gave behests to the sons of Israel, and to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, that they should lead out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt.

20Forsooth Amram took a wife, Jochebed, the daughter of his father’s brother, and she childed to him Aaron, and Moses, and Marie; and the years of the life of Amram were an hundred and seven and thirty.

26This is Aaron and Moses, to which the Lord commanded, that they should lead out of the land of Egypt the sons of Israel by their companies;
27these it be, that spake to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, that they lead the sons of Israel out of Egypt; this is Moses and Aaron,
28in the day in which the Lord spake to Moses in the land of Egypt.
29And the Lord spake to Moses, and said, I am the Lord; speak thou to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, all things which I speak to thee.
30And Moses said before the Lord, Lo! I am uncircumcised in lips; how shall Pharaoh hear me?

Exodus 6
6
1The Lord God told Moses:
Soon you will see what I will do to the king. Because of my mighty power, he will let my people go, and he will even chase them out of his country.

Gn 17.1; 28.3; 35.9-11; Ex 3.13-15. My name is the Lord.#6.2 My name is the Lord: See the note at 3.14,15. 3But when I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, I came as God All-Powerful and did not use my name. 4I made an agreement and promised them the land of Canaan, where they were living as foreigners. 5Now I have seen how the people of Israel are suffering because of the Egyptians, and I will keep my promise.
6Here is my message for Israel: “I am the Lord! And with my mighty power I will punish the Egyptians and free you from slavery. 7I will accept you as my people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I was the one who rescued you from the Egyptians. 8I will bring you into the land that I solemnly promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and it will be yours. I am the Lord!”
9When Moses told this to the Israelites, they were too discouraged and mistreated to believe him.
10Then the Lord told Moses 11to demand that the king of Egypt let the Israelites leave. 12But Moses replied, “I'm not a powerful speaker. If the Israelites won't listen to me, why should the king of Egypt?” 13But the Lord sent Aaron and Moses with a message for the Israelites and for the king. He also ordered Aaron and Moses to free the people from Egypt.
