Exodus 36
36
1“Bezalel and Oholiab shall work with every wise-hearted man, in whom Yahweh has put wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that Yahweh has commanded.”
2Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab, and every wise-hearted man, in whose heart Yahweh had put wisdom, even everyone whose heart stirred him up to come to the work to do it. 3They received from Moses all the offering which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, with which to make it. They kept bringing free will offerings to him every morning. 4All the wise men, who performed all the work of the sanctuary, each came from his work which he did. 5They spoke to Moses, saying, “The people have brought much more than enough for the service of the work which Yahweh commanded to make.”
6Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, “Let neither man nor woman make anything else for the offering for the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing. 7For the stuff they had was sufficient to do all the work, and too much.
8All the wise-hearted men among those who did the work made the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, blue, purple, and scarlet. They made them with cherubim, the work of a skillful workman. 9The length of each curtain was twenty-eight cubits,#36:9 A cubit is the length from the tip of the middle finger to the elbow on a man’s arm, or about 18 inches or 46 centimeters. and the width of each curtain four cubits. All the curtains had one measure. 10He coupled five curtains to one another, and the other five curtains he coupled to one another. 11He made loops of blue on the edge of the one curtain from the edge in the coupling. Likewise he made in the edge of the curtain that was outermost in the second coupling. 12He made fifty loops in the one curtain, and he made fifty loops in the edge of the curtain that was in the second coupling. The loops were opposite to one another. 13He made fifty clasps of gold, and coupled the curtains to one another with the clasps: so the tabernacle was a unit.
14He made curtains of goats’ hair for a covering over the tabernacle. He made them eleven curtains. 15The length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and four cubits the width of each curtain. The eleven curtains had one measure. 16He coupled five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves. 17He made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was outermost in the coupling, and he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain which was outermost in the second coupling. 18He made fifty clasps of bronze to couple the tent together, that it might be a unit. 19He made a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red, and a covering of sea cow hides above.
20He made the boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, standing up. 21Ten cubits was the length of a board, and a cubit and a half the width of each board. 22Each board had two tenons, joined to one another. He made all the boards of the tabernacle this way. 23He made the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards for the south side southward. 24He made forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards: two sockets under one board for its two tenons, and two sockets under another board for its two tenons. 25For the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, he made twenty boards 26and their forty sockets of silver: two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board. 27For the far part of the tabernacle westward he made six boards. 28He made two boards for the corners of the tabernacle in the far part. 29They were double beneath, and in the same way they were all the way to its top to one ring. He did this to both of them in the two corners. 30There were eight boards and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets—under every board two sockets.
31He made bars of acacia wood: five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle, 32and five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the hinder part westward. 33He made the middle bar to pass through in the middle of the boards from the one end to the other. 34He overlaid the boards with gold, and made their rings of gold as places for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.
35He made the veil of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cherubim. He made it the work of a skillful workman. 36He made four pillars of acacia for it, and overlaid them with gold. Their hooks were of gold. He cast four sockets of silver for them. 37He made a screen for the door of the tent, of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of an embroiderer; 38and the five pillars of it with their hooks. He overlaid their capitals and their fillets with gold, and their five sockets were of bronze.

Exodus 36
36
1“Let Bezalel, Oholiab, and every other skilled worker whom the LORD has given skill, ability, and knowledge for the work of building the sanctuary do all that the LORD has commanded.”
2Moses then called together Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled person whom the LORD had given skill and who was eager to come and do the work. 3Moses gave them all the gift offerings that the Israelites had contributed to the work on the sanctuary. They kept bringing him spontaneous gifts, morning after morning.
4Finally, all the skilled workers building the sanctuary left their work that they were doing one by one to come 5and say to Moses, “The people are contributing way too much material for doing the work that the LORD has commanded us to do.”
6So Moses issued a command that was proclaimed throughout the camp: “Every man and woman should stop making gift offerings for the sanctuary project.” So the people stopped bringing anything more 7because what they had already brought was more than enough to do all the work.
Construction of the dwelling
8All the skilled workers made the dwelling out of ten curtains of fine twisted linen and blue, purple, and deep red yarns, with figures of winged heavenly creatures worked into their design. 9Each curtain was forty-two feet long and six feet wide. All the curtains were the same size.
10They joined five of the curtains to each other and joined the other five curtains to each other. 11They made loops of blue thread on the edge of the outer curtain of the first set. They did the same on the edge of the outer curtain of the second set. 12They made fifty loops on the one curtain and fifty loops on the outer curtain that was in the second set. The loops were opposite each other. 13They also made fifty gold clasps, and they used the clasps to join the curtains to each other so that the dwelling was one whole structure.
14They also made curtains of goats’ hair for a tent over the dwelling. They made eleven curtains. 15Each curtain was forty-five feet long and each curtain six feet wide. All eleven curtains were the same size. 16They joined five curtains together and the six other curtains together. 17They made fifty loops on the edge of the outer curtain of the one set and fifty loops on the edge of the other set of curtains. 18They made fifty copper clasps to join the tent together so that it would be one whole structure. 19They also made a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red and an outer covering of beaded leather.
20Then they made acacia-wood boards to stand upright as a frame for the dwelling. 21Each board was fifteen feet long and twenty-seven inches wide. 22Each board had two pegs for joining them to each other. They did this for all the dwelling’s boards. 23They made twenty boards for the dwelling’s southern side. 24They made forty silver bases under the twenty boards, with two bases under the first board for its two pegs, two bases under the next board for its two pegs, and so on. 25For the dwelling’s other side on the north, they made twenty boards 26and forty silver bases, two bases under the first board, two bases under the next board, and so on. 27For the back of the dwelling on the west, they made six boards. 28They made two additional boards for the dwelling’s rear corners. 29They were spread out at the bottom but joined together at the top with one ring. In this way, these two boards formed the two corners. 30And so there were eight boards with their sixteen silver bases, with two bases under every board.
31They also made acacia-wood bars: five for the boards on one side of the dwelling, 32five bars for the boards on the other side of the dwelling, and five bars for the boards on the back wall of the dwelling on the west. 33They made the middle bar, which was halfway up the boards, run from one end to the other. 34They covered the boards with gold. They made gold rings to house the bars and covered the bars with gold.
35They made the veil of blue, purple, and deep red yarns and fine twisted linen, with figures of winged heavenly creatures worked into its design. 36They made for it four acacia-wood posts covered in gold with gold hooks and cast four silver bases for them. 37They made a screen for the entrance to the tent of blue, purple, and deep red yarns and fine twisted linen, decorated with needlework. 38They made its five posts with hooks. They covered their tops and bands with gold, but made their five bases out of copper.
