Jn 4.46; 21.2. On the third day there was a marriage at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there; 2Jesus also was invited to the marriage, with his disciples. 3#Jn 19.26; Mk 3.31. When the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” 4#Mk 1.24; 5.7; Jn 7.6,30; 8.20. And Jesus said to her, “O woman, what have you to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” 5His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6#Mk 7.3; Jn 3.25. Now six stone jars were standing there, for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons. 7Jesus said to them, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. 8He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the steward of the feast.” So they took it. 9When the steward of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the steward of the feast called the bridegroom 10and said to him, “Every man serves the good wine first; and when men have drunk freely, then the poor wine; but you have kept the good wine until now.” 11#Jn 2.23; 3.2; 4.54; 6.2. This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

Mt 4.13; Jn 7.3; Mk 3.31. After this he went down to Caperna-um, with his mother and his brothers and his disciples; and there they stayed for a few days.

Jn 6.4; 11.55; Deut 16.1-6; Lk 2.41. The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14#Mt 21.12-13; Mk 11.15-17; Lk 19.45-46. In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers at their business. 15And making a whip of cords, he drove them all, with the sheep and oxen, out of the temple; and he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. 16#Lk 2.49. And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; you shall not make my Father's house a house of trade.” 17#Ps 60.9. His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for thy house will consume me.” 18#Mk 11.28; Mt 21.23; Lk 20.2. The Jews then said to him, “What sign have you to show us for doing this?” 19#Mk 14.58; Acts 6.14. Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” 21#1 Cor 6.19; Jn 8.57. But he spoke of the temple of his body. 22#Jn 12.16; 14.26. When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.
23Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover feast, many believed in his name when they saw the signs which he did; 24but Jesus did not trust himself to them, 25#Jn 1.47; 6.61; 13.11; Mk 2.8. because he knew all men and needed no one to bear witness of man; for he himself knew what was in man.

Yoḥanan (John) 2
2
1And on the third day there was a wedding in Qanah of Galil, and the mother of יהושע was there.
2And both יהושע and His taught ones were invited to the wedding.
3And when they were short of wine, the mother of יהושע said to Him, “They have no wine.”
4יהושע said to her, “Woman, what is that to Me and to you? My hour has not yet come.”
5His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever He says to you.”
6And there were six stone water-jugs standing there, according to the mode of cleansing of the Yehuḏim, each holding two or three measures.
7יהושע said to them, “Fill the water-jugs with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.
8And He said to them, “Now draw out and take it to the master of the feast.” So they took it.
9But when the master of the feast had tasted the water that had become wine, and did not know where it came from – though the servants who had drawn the water knew – the master of the feast called the bridegroom,
10and said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when they have drunk, then that which is poorer. You have kept the good wine until now.”
11This, the beginning of the signs, יהושע did in Qanah of Galil, and manifested His esteem. And His taught ones believed in Him.
12After this He went down to Kephar Naḥum, He and His mother, and His brothers, and His taught ones. And there they stayed not many days.
13And the Pĕsaḥ of the Yehuḏim was near, and יהושע went up to Yerushalayim.
14And He found in the Set-apart Place those selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the moneychangers sitting.
15And having made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the Set-apart Place, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the moneychangers’ coins and overturned the tables.
16And He said to those selling doves, “Take these away! Do not make the house of My Father a house of merchandise!”
17And His taught ones remembered that it was written, “The ardour for Your house has eaten Me up.”# Psa. 69:9
18And the Yehuḏim answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You are doing these?”
19יהושע answered and said to them, “Destroy this Dwelling Place, and in three days I shall raise it.”
20Then the Yehuḏim said, “It took forty-six years to build this Dwelling Place, and You are going to raise it in three days?”
21But He spoke about the Dwelling Place of His body.
22So, when He was raised from the dead, His taught ones remembered that He said this to them. And they believed the Scripture and the word which יהושע had said.
23And when He was in Yerushalayim at the Pĕsaḥ, at the festival, many believed in His Name when they saw the signs which He was doing.
24But יהושע was not entrusting Himself to them, because He knew all men,
25and had no need that anyone should witness of man, for He knew what was in man.
