2 Thessalonians 3

Request for Prayer
1Finally, brothers and sisters,#3.1 Gk brothers pray for us, so that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified everywhere, just as it is among you, 2and that we may be rescued from wicked and evil people; for not all have faith. 3But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.#3.3 Or from evil 4And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you are doing and will go on doing the things that we command. 5May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.
Warning against Idleness
6Now we command you, beloved,#3.6 Gk brothers in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from believers who are#3.6 Gk from every brother who is living in idleness and not according to the tradition that they#3.6 Other ancient authorities read you received from us. 7For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us; we were not idle when we were with you, 8and we did not eat anyone's bread without paying for it; but with toil and labor we worked night and day, so that we might not burden any of you. 9This was not because we do not have that right, but in order to give you an example to imitate. 10For even when we were with you, we gave you this command: Anyone unwilling to work should not eat. 11For we hear that some of you are living in idleness, mere busybodies, not doing any work. 12Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living. 13Brothers and sisters,#3.13 Gk Brothers do not be weary in doing what is right.
14Take note of those who do not obey what we say in this letter; have nothing to do with them, so that they may be ashamed. 15Do not regard them as enemies, but warn them as believers.#3.15 Gk a brother
Final Greetings and Benediction
16Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with all of you.
17I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. This is the mark in every letter of mine; it is the way I write. 18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you.#3.18 Other ancient authorities add Amen

Tas`loniqim Bĕt (2 Thessalonians) 3
3
1For the rest, brothers, pray for us, so that the Word of יהוה spreads rapidly and be praised, as also with you,
2and that we might be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men, for not all have belief.
3But the Master is trustworthy, who shall establish you and guard you from the wicked one.
4And we trust in the Master as to you, both that you do and shall do what we command you.
5And the Master direct your hearts into the love of Elohim and into the endurance for Messiah.
6But we command you, brothers, in the Name of our Master יהושע Messiah, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which you received from us.
7For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, for we were not disorderly among you,
8nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but worked with labour and toil night and day, in order not to burden any of you,
9not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example, for you to imitate us.
10For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone does not wish to work, neither let him eat.
11For we hear of some among you walking disorderly, not working at all, but are busybodies.
12But we command and urge such, through our Master יהושע Messiah, to settle down, work and eat their own bread.
13And you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good.
14And if anyone does not obey our word in this letter, note that one, and do not keep company with him, so that he is put to shame.
15However, do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
16And the Master of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Master be with you all.
17The greeting of Sha’ul with my own hand, which is a sign in every letter, thus I write.
18The favour of our Master יהושע Messiah be with you all. Amĕn.
