Revelation 10
10
1Then I saw another powerful angel descending from heaven, with a cloud wrapped around him and with a rainbow over his head. His face looked like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. 2He was holding a small scroll that had already been opened. He placed his right foot on the sea, and this left foot on the land. 3He gave a great shout, like a lion roaring. When he shouted, the seven thunders responded. 4When the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write down what they said when I heard a voice from heaven that told me, “Keep under seal what the seven thunders said. Don't write them down.” 5The angel I saw standing on the sea and on the land held up his right hand to heaven. 6He made a sacred oath by the one who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and everything in them, and the earth and everything in it, and the sea and everything in it. “No more delay!” he said. 7But at the time when the seventh angel speaks, when he blows his trumpet, then the mystery#10:7. As always, this is a “revealed mystery.” In other words, “God's mysterious plan will be accomplished.” of God will be completed—the good news he announced through his servants the prophets.
8Then I heard again the voice from heaven telling me, “Go and take the scroll that is open in the hand of the angel that stands on the sea and on the land.” 9So I went to the angel, and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, “Take it and eat it up. It will be sour in your stomach, but sweet as honey in your mouth.”#10:9. For reference see Numbers 5:24 and Ezekiel 3:3. 10I took the little scroll from the angel and ate it up. In my mouth it was as sweet as honey, but it was sour in my stomach. 11I was told, “You must prophesy again regarding many peoples, nations, languages, and kings.”

Revelation 10

The Angel and the Small Scroll
1Then I saw another powerful angel coming down from heaven dressed in a cloud with a rainbow over his head. His face was like the sun, and his legs were like pillars of fire. 2The angel was holding a small scroll open in his hand. He put his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land. 3Then he shouted loudly like the roaring of a lion. And when he shouted, the voices of seven thunders spoke. 4When the seven thunders spoke, I started to write. But I heard a voice from heaven say, “Keep hidden what the seven thunders said, and do not write them down.”
5Then the angel I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven, 6and he made a promise by the power of the One who lives forever and ever. He is the One who made the skies and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it. The angel promised, “There will be no more waiting! 7In the days when the seventh angel is ready to blow his trumpet, God’s secret will be finished. This secret is the Good News God told to his servants, the prophets.”
8Then I heard the same voice from heaven again, saying to me: “Go and take the open scroll that is in the hand of the angel that is standing on the sea and on the land.”
9So I went to the angel and told him to give me the small scroll. And he said to me, “Take the scroll and eat it. It will be sour in your stomach, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.” 10So I took the small scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. In my mouth it tasted sweet as honey, but after I ate it, it was sour in my stomach. 11Then I was told, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages, and kings.”
