Psalms 70
70
For the music director. A psalm of David. For a memorial.#70:0. This psalm is taken from Psalms 40 with a few minor changes.
1God, save me! Hurry, Lord, help me!
2Please defeat and humiliate the people who are trying to kill me; turn back in disgrace those who want to hurt me.
3May they be shocked at their defeat, those who taunted me.
4But may everyone who comes to you be happy and glad; may those who love your salvation always say, “God is great!”
5As for me, I am poor and needy. Hurry, God, help me! Save me! Lord, don't wait!

PSALM 70
First Version
Meter: 6,6,8,6
To the chief Musician,
A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.
1Lord, haste me to deliver; with speed,
Lord, succor me.
2Let them that for my soul do seek
shamed and confounded be:
Turned back be they, and shamed,
that in my hurt delight.
3Turned back be they, Ha, ha! that say,
their shaming to requite.
4In thee let all be glad,
and joy that seek for thee:
Let them who thy salvation love
say still, God praisèd be.
5I poor and needy am; come, Lord,
and make no stay:
My help thou and deliv'rer art;
O Lord, make no delay.
