Leviticus 17
17
1The Lord told Moses, 2“Tell Aaron, his sons, and all the Israelites that this is what the Lord commands: 3Any Israelite who kills a bull, a lamb, or a goat, whether inside the camp or outside of it, 4instead of bringing it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting to present it as an offering to the Lord there, that person shall be held guilty of illegal killing.#17:4. “Illegal killing”: literally simply “blood,” the idea of bloodguilt being implied. They have shed blood and must be expelled from their people.
5This is why the Israelites have to bring to the Lord the sacrifices they currently offer out in the fields. They must bring them to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and offer them as peace offerings to the Lord. 6The priest will sprinkle the blood on the altar of the Lord at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, and burn the fat to be accepted by the Lord.
7They must not continue to offer their sacrifices to the goat devils#17:7. Clearly some form of pagan worship. with whom they have acted like prostitutes. This is a regulation for all time and for all future generations.
8Warn them that any Israelite or any foreigner living among them who offers a burnt offering or a sacrifice 9without bringing it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting to sacrifice it to the Lord must be expelled from their people. 10I will disown any Israelite or any foreigner living among them who eats any blood and I will expel them from their people. 11Life is in the body's blood. I have given it to you so that by putting it on the altar your lives can be made right, for it is the lifeblood that makes people's lives right. 12That's why I'm warning the Israelites: None of you is allowed to eat blood, and no foreigner living among you is allowed to eat blood.
13Any Israelite or foreigner living among them who hunts and kills a wild animal or a bird which are allowed be eaten must drain the blood from its body and cover it with earth, 14for life is in the body's blood. That's why I have warned the Israelites: You are not allowed to eat the blood of anything living, for life is in the body's blood. Anyone who eats it must be expelled.
15Anyone, Israelite or foreigner, who eats anything found dead or killed by wild animals must wash their clothes and wash with water, and they will be unclean until the evening. Then they will be clean. 16But if they don't wash their clothes and wash themselves with water, then they bear responsibility for their guilt.”

Where To Offer Sacrifices
1The Lord told Moses 2to tell Aaron, his sons, and everyone else in Israel:
3-4Whenever you kill any of your cattle, sheep, or goats as sacrifices to me, you must do it at the entrance to the sacred tent. If you don't, you will be guilty of pouring out blood, and you will no longer belong to the community of Israel. 5And so, when you sacrifice an animal to ask my blessing,#17.5 sacrifice … to ask my blessing: See the note at 3.1. it must not be done out in a field, 6but in front of the sacred tent. Then a priest can splatter its blood against the bronze altar and send its fat up in smoke with a smell that pleases me. 7Don't ever turn from me again and offer sacrifices to goat-demons. This law will never change.
8Remember! No one in Israel, including foreigners, is to offer a sacrifice anywhere 9except at the entrance to the sacred tent. If you do, you will no longer belong to my people.
Do Not Eat Blood
The Lord said:
10 #
Gn 9.4; Lv 7.26,27; 19.26; Dt 12.5-19,23,24; 15.23. I will turn against any of my people who eat blood. This also includes any foreigners living among you. 11#He 9.22. Life is in the blood, and I have given you the blood of animals to sacrifice in place of your own. 12That's also why I have forbidden you to eat blood. 13Even if you should hunt and kill a bird or an animal, you must drain out the blood and cover it with soil.
14The life of every living creature is in its blood. That's why I have forbidden you to eat blood and why I have warned you that anyone who does will no longer belong to my people.
15If you happen to find a dead animal and eat it, you must take a bath and wash your clothes, but you are still unclean until evening. 16If you don't take a bath, you will suffer for what you did wrong.
